Quit trying to speak for everyone. You can only speak for yourself and you may not like our chances but you also said we'd be favorites with KD so yeah, I guess I can see why you're trying to say no one else says we'd be a contender swapping them. I like our chances better, especially since Butler will opt out after this season, which could provide cap/apron relief. One last hail mary before looking to the future.

Main point though, we aren't contenders now. I don't mean because we aren't healthy, I mean as constructed. We'd lose no position. We'd gain a real leader who wants to be here and will be playing for a contract. Plus it should force JJ's hand more to find a real PF or upgrade C. Either is a necessity to be a contender.

I wasn’t trying to speak for you. I am talking about prognosticators and analysts in the NBA. I will repeat, nobody would. Since you brought it up though you seem to be the only one I know saying it. So “everyone” seems to be just you.

Also, can you show me where I said we would be favorites with “KD”?!?

Also, I used the terms “closer” and “further” in case you decided to once again put words in my mouth…….again.

Mainstreet also mentioned swapping KD for Butler just a few posts up in this thread. What does it matter though? I own my views. I don't need to invoke others to stand for what I said and would like to see happen. You clearly don't do the same, which is your prerogative. It doesn't matter what the talking heads say, like Kendrick Perkins, Steven A Smith, Jalen Rose, Shaq, Chuck, etc. They're right and wrong a lot.

You said we'd be legit contenders or favorites when the KD trade was made and I believe again when we acquired Beal. Your entire justification for the KD trade was it made us legit contenders, ie favorites or a team to beat. I'm not going through 2-3 years of posts so you can quibble over how you said it. I'm not surprised you're trying to deny it or sidestep it now. Thanks for reminding me why I had you on ignore for most of the season.

Edit - Rather than dispute the point, you want to claim my position is speaking for everyone? Not even sure why you say I'm "everyone" since I didn't say anything other than my own view. I didn't claim to speak for a majority or an entirety.

It would be crazy to swap KD for Butler. KD is a far better player and we need draft picks for him when we trade him.

The team we should approach is Houston - offering them Booker makes sense for both teams. We get some of our picks back and we might be able to get Jalen Green as well.

Unless the Suns can get draft picks in return to use in another trade, the hypothetical trade of Durant for Butler loses all its luster.

The Suns would still need that athletic 4/5.

Btw, I don't think the Suns have any interest in trading Durant. It was more of a brainstorming session where both teams get well.

I don't disagree with you. I was more pointing out the ridiculous claim of "nobody wants that". There's a time for hyperbole and if you want to be hyperbolic, stand by it. Don't make hyperbolic claims to support your position though when there others discussing exactly what you claim " nobody " would even suggest.

I'm yet to hear a reasonable take from CR as to why a Butler for KD trade sets us back. He continues being hyperbolic and whinging over erroneous details that detract from the point. I believe you and I agreed that Butler plays with more fire and is a better leader than KD. If we could somehow bamboozle a pick in a swap of the two, I'd be all for it. It doesn't change our chances of winning now, they're slim already and Butler's leadership makes up the difference in talent IMO, and Butler opting out would be a blessing as it gets us under the 2nd apron. A draft pick could be used to improve what we have left.

Except see responses since you responded to me. It appears you are an a bit of an island. Which is fine. It's your keyboard. To answer your question? It doesn't matter. Nobody else wants to own your views. Who is saying otherwise?!?

Please show me me where I invoked anybody else's thoughts to form my own? That trade hasn't been made. Therefore, nobody has made that assessment. ERGO it's my thought. Hello?!?

I said KD should make this team legit contender for possibly the next few years after the trade. I said at the time they took a big risk. I have repeatedly said the Suns are taking a risk (because of his health) and with the assets they gave up they better win. You can't just leave that part out and pretend like you made some kind of legit point. Was I excited after the trade? Yep. So were most people. I was excited about the potential.

The first thing I said after the Beal trade was "This has the potential to be a fantastic trade". I felt Beal could make the team deeper. I also said that if Beal was our #2 that trade didn't excite me. So no, I didn't say it the first time and I didn't say it a second time either that "The Suns were the team to beat". The only time I remember invoking a similar phrase is after the Lakers made a bunch of moves. I thought they might be the team to beat in the West.

Show me again where I ever just blanket said the Suns are the team to beat. Funny how you will just throw B.S. out there when you want to make an accusation but then don't have the time to prove said accusation. Shocked!

You are no loss to me. Put me back on ignore. It would save me so much time responding to your posts that serve no purpose other than to argue or criticize people.

Thank you?!!?

Just like I expected, quibbling nonsense. "I didn't say that except when I did this time and that time but what I meant was....". I'm paraphrasing there, do you know what that means? I'd hope you do but I don't think so given your incessant need to quibble over semantics, which you did in the quoted post above for 7-8 paragraphs.

I'd take the time to point out all the ridiculousness but I'm walking away. I'm not sure why I bothered since you did exactly what I expected. You are a living logical fallacy. I hope you plan on donating your body to science one day.

Blah blah blah. More noise no substance and you can’t back up anything. As usual you put words into people’s mouths and can never back it up. Typical. Funny how everybody else usually get’s what being said but you.

Update: JUST FYI. I just did the extensive search you evidently could not be bothered to do (because you were full of it). I never invoked that phrase EVER. The only thing close to it is exactly what I stated above and it was geared towards the Lakers. Not the Suns.

Agreed. Makes no sense. Although trading Booker makes no sense either unless you are completely blowing up. KD and Beal should follow that trade.
