miami should be the desperate team - beal isn't refusing to play or demanding the trade - our locker room likely won't be screwed if beal stays - ish better keep all this in mind and fleece the ever loving sheep outta miami - but he'd have to stay patient - like right up to the deadline - beal for butler straight up no picks

I agree. At the end of the day, we shouldn't blink.

I see what is coming. Miami is going to take Beal for the three firsts and Dunn in a separate deal, and I am going to become an OKC fan.

I feel like the NBA would see right through that and nix the deal as an attempt to subvert the apron rules.

Given what happened last night, I guess anything is possible, but I think this scenario is impossible.

The Heat would, literally, be better off getting absolutely nothing for Butler than getting Beal on that contract.

I don’t think we could unload him even without a NTC. Nobody wants to blow thru the aprons/tax for a borderline top-50 player. We made our bed.

Anything is possible it seems but I wouldn't count on it. Miami isn't going to take Beal's contract without pick compensation. That would be fantastic if they would but I am not counting on it if this happens.

they don't have a choice - it's either that or keep butler - and that they can't do

miami is stuck between a rock and a hard place - we don't need to move the rock - we're not giving them water - we're not calling for help

hey there - i see you're stuck and that sucks - but it looks like if i take that jimmy butler edition wrist watch of yours off - i bet you can get your arm out

hell no im not paying you for the watch - i did you a favor - you can have this beal edition watch if you want but it gets stuck more than the butler edition

you can stay here stuck or you can **** and stay still while i get this watch off you

They do have a choice but it's not a great one. Again, I hope the Suns can do a straight up but that Beal contract is an albatross and everyone in the league knows it.

choice is they can overpay beal or keep butler

i didn't want jimmy but the man is giftwrapping himself and paying for his own postage - he'll eventually do us the same when given a chance - but we should expect and anticipate his repeated exit strategy

It's not that often a great player forces his way to a specific team. That will be KD and now Bulter if this happens. It's a bit of a catch 22. It's very rare for that to happen, especially a market like the Suns, yet we have seen how that could potentially blow up.

At least it makes for interesting commentary for the next few weeks.

So they have to take a WORSE contract for Butler?

Uh… no. They could just send his ass home like Houston did with Jon Wall and then next year, Jimmy becomes a big fat expiring.

I have heard some analysts say this as well. His expiring contract will have a ton more value than anything they likely get back at this point.
