It may not mean much, but the Nurkic trade is still in the “trade transition” phase.

What does this mean????

EDIT:

Micic and Nurkic are present on the bench of their new teams, but due to unknown reasons responsible, they still can't debut for their new teams.

Since the Williams trade did not go through with Charlotte and LA, Maybe Charlotte going to try and back out of the Suns trade?

Maybe but to me this seems like a good trade for Charlotte so I think it's on the Suns end - especially since Nurkic is apparently traveling with his new team already.

This is why the Williams trade had to be rescinded and not amended: "For those wondering why the trade had to be fully rescinded — outright canceled — the answer rests on the timing. Had the trade happened with enough time for physicals to be taken prior Thursday's 3 p.m. ET trade deadline passing, the teams could have amended the structure of the deal (for instance, the Lakers removing the outgoing first-round pick or adding protections) to appease both sides. Instead, the only two options left were to approve or rescind the trade. - Ramona Shelborne"

This seems to indicate they cannot ask for more compensation on the Nurkic trade.

From what I am reading the Suns want the non guaranteed contracts of Martin and Micic.

Unless our trade met the deadline?

Yeah I think the trade works for both teams but I do believe Charlotte gained value by the deal so I can't see why they'd want to back out.

The only thing I can think of is now they have both contracts at the center position, and no shooting guard they were looking for?

Just looked and Nurkic was listed as DNP - Coach's Decision in Charlotte game tonight. Wouldn't that indicate he's officially available?

Yeah I have no idea what's going on. I just checked RGM's Charlotte board and saw others suggesting it was related to Martin's physical (hernia) but nobody there knew anything either.

re: grumbling about the GM. Because we never know anything in detail about what went on with the GM's work, I have always been reluctant to complain about GMs. We also are not sure whether a GM's dealings were restricted by a micromanaging owner. I can believe that Robert Sarver probably was a micromanager, but I have no idea of any of Mat Ishbia's habits. No idea whether Ishbia interfered with James Jones' ability to make a deal. No idea whether he likes Jones and wants to keep him, or plans to remove Jones soon and install "his guys." But I suspect that Ishbia is the one who wanted to keep Durant here, and that is why Durant didn't get traded to the Heat (which he says he was willing to play for).

Even with the allegedly odious Ryan McDonough, I've never felt sure where McDonough ended and where Sarver began. There was a time when one of the two publicly threw a fit over something a player (possibly Goran Dragic, I forget) said or did. (Yeah, it was probably Dragic's trade demand.) Other fans believed the expression of petulance was clearly from McDonough. I always disagreed, thinking no, it sounded like Sarver speaking through McDonough.

Figuring this out was always easier back when the Colangelos ruled the Suns, especially before Jerry Colangelo hired his son as GM.
.
Bryan Colangelo was micromanaged by Sarver. It was pretty obvious because the Suns went from drafting a keeping their picks every year to not keeping any as soon as Sarver took over. We’re talking about losing quality players for cash or future picks that were traded for cash.

That is weird because he was injured before the trade was even talked about, and everyone knew he was injured and what it was.

I saw DJ's dad at a golf tournament Daryl, and I had my whole family with me. We had just moved to Northern Nevada. He saw us walking up, and immediately said "No autographs!" with a sour look on his face. I said, "Hi! My whole family just moved from AZ, and we are all Suns fans. We just wanted to say how much we enjoy watching DJ play for the Suns." Daryl lit up. We talked for about 5 minutes about his son while he waited for his bus back to the hotel to show up. At the very end, he told us, I am so glad you stopped to talk to me! You could tell he was really a proud Dad.

D.J. Strawberry is one of several players whose careers (or prospective careers) Mike D'Antoni ruined by not allowing them to develop. Strawberry could have become a competent NBA player. Also the free-agent signing Marcus Banks: useful as a defensive specialist, if nothing else. I never saw so many potentially useful players wasted, and I detest waste.

Sure but it happens all the time where the trade physical finds something new or reveals greater damage than previously believed.

Do you think that if the Suns won a championship, people would trash Phoenix? We could bring up how idiots in Philadelphia just rioted, but let's cite a more relevant example. During the 1993 Finals, businesses in Chicago, anticipating a Bulls championship, were preparing for riots. After the Suns won a game, Charles Barkley claimed "we saved the city from itself."

Back in 1998 or 1999, the Cardinals (still at Sun Devil Stadium) won a game against the Cowgirls that they apparently were not expected to win. In college one day after that, I heard another student claim that after the game, he personally joined some others in tearing the goalpost out of the ground and carrying it down the street.

I was hoping the Suns would get some draft compensation back.
