We really need to work on our free throw game. We were outscored by 18 from the foul line, trim down that discrepancy and we're in good shape. Actually, just make Embiid play by the same rules that Ayton has to and we'd be fine.

I really liked this game even though they lost.

If the refs had been fair the suns would have won.

This game gives me hope.

Tough loss to a good team I can live with that. When the Suns play hard they can hang now they need to learn to play hard everygame.

Bulls up next this where they need to come out with full effort and win the games they are supposed to win

I didn't get to watch the game as it was blacked out even though Sixers games are not shown locally, but it looks like they played a good game. Not a lot of turnovers, decent number of assists, good shooting percentages. Nice to see Booker doing his thing again. It looks like they got outrebounded badly and missed a bunch of free throws.

FTs, giving up offensive rebounds and backup PG play killed their chances of winning. Good to see Ariza making a contribution for once and it's a shame Bridges was in foul trouble.

Do the Suns even play Phoenix this season? Seriously, other than maybe Cleveland I don't think there is a road game out there that qualifies as a game we are supposed to win. Chicago is certainly in the range of teams we can beat though so hopefully we'll play the Bulls as well as we played Philadelphia.

And the referees tooted their whistle a lot on the Suns early taking away their ability to play more aggressive defense.

This team has talent it's sometimes they come out flat.

It looks like they are starting to get the hang of the offense. In recent games tough losses to Toronto, Boston, OKC and Philly. The effort in those games was a 180 when compared to the nets game.

When the Suns bring it they've shown they can be a tough out now it's a question of playing every game

In fairness Ayton is only averaging 2.5 free throws per game. He’s not forcing contact. A guy like him should be averaging 7-8 per game. I’m pretty sure Embiid averaged something in that range as a rookie.

I'm not trying to extinguish what little hope there might be but to me, it's difficult to determine how much of this is actual improvement. Are they really playing with a lot more effort or are the other teams entering the game in coast mode because we are so beatable?

Ayton picks up fouls without contact, I can't imagine how many fouls he'd have been called for if he actually played physically on both ends of the court. Anyway, I watched Embiid shove, hook and elbow his way through the game tonight virtually without consequence. I'd like to see Ayton play more like Embiid but I'd rather neither player be allowed to do the things Joel routinely gets away with.

That's because Kokoskov has him playing the high post when he should be down low on the block. Meanwhile, Canaan and Ariza each get 21 undeserved minutes of playing time, while Bridges only gets 23.

Give this team a halfway decent head coach and point guard, and it could contend for a playoff spot, in my opinion, even with its gaping hole at power forward, but alas...

I agree with you, but you have to adapt to the way a game is called. And offensively he’s got to start imposing himself and drawing fouls.

He did, but remember that Embiid sat out his first two years, and was nearly 23 by the time he was a "rookie." Ayton won't reach Embiid's debut age for another two and a half years.

The head coach is incapable of making adjustments himself. What makes you think he can teach a 19 year old rookie to do so?

You didn't watch the game, did you? Bridges and Booker were both hampered by fouls.

Bridges was in foul trouble the entire night...
