Sign Collin Gillespie to the regular roster, even if the Suns have to waive or trade another player later on.

The Suns will need him going forward, if not this season, in future seasons.

Hopefully the Suns will match any offer when Gillespie becomes a RFA in 2025-26, but I like wrapping up players long term at bargain prices.

Don't know if this is a great mindset or not. Obviously, the goal isn't to stay there long term, but you don't want to play like you don't want to be where you are either. Probably just reading too far into the quote.
