Good win by the Suns. :)

3 point defense remains a concern though as the Trail Blazers shot 43% from the 3 and our previous 2 opponents shot 40% or better as well.

They had to. No one was going inside.

Wow. I have been a Suns fan for 32 years and I have never seen them with THIS type of team. The power of Shaq and Amare together is remarkable.

and just like that, we have the longest winning streak in the nba right now with rockets snapping their streak (oh no, jinx)...

And with the hopefully easy win against Seattle, we will gain a full game on somebody above us, as Houston plays New Orleans. One of them is gonna lose. Gotta love the Western Conference this year...

Did anyone see that play where Hill zoomed down the stretch of the court? He didn't get the breakaway pass on the play, but he looked like he was 25 again. It was Barbosa like speed.

I freakin love Hill. Probably the most underappreciated part of our team. And a great boxscore for him considering the injury. Hill for Mayor imo.

I think with Shaq we played more strict defense while not running as much. That might explain the sudden rise of energy with everybody on the team. We are an old team now so that this makes a difference.

Looks like they're learning how to funnel their man towards the middle (aka Shaq) and let him take care of it. Well, except for Barbs - he hasn't learned that part hence he still commits silly fouls. :)

"That's my guy," O'Neal said. "I was just trying to get some stock."

Checking the box score...only 3 Suns shot free throws last night (Blazers had 7 guys go to the line) The FT comparison was 13-19 for the Suns, 20-25 for the Blazers. Just an interesting fact...

usually we only have about 5 guys going to the line: Nash, Barbs, Hill, Amare, Shaq. Once in a while diaw will get there, but not too often. Neither hill nor nash got there last night. very interesting.

Shaq makes the Suns fun again. I was a huge Matrix fan but his attitude had me fed up with him. My allegiance is with the team and not a single player so I said the hell with him lets try to win a ring.

Shaq is one friggin amazing passer.

Some notes on yesterdays game:

-Barbosa has a nasty three and jumpshot, he's great in the fast break and open court. However, the guy makes really bad decisions once he cuts into the lane and faces a double team or any sort of pressure that prevents him from taking a good shot.
-Steve Nash looks a lot fresher and is moving better than in previous games. I think this has to do with the teams adjustment to Shaq.
-So far this experiment looks like it might be working out, however the Suns need to play better defense on the perimeter and prevent all these jumpers. I think teams are forced to shoot from a distance because of the inside presence. What a change... I guess its been falling for them but I'm sure there will be nights when the other team can't make a bucket. Can you say blowout ;)
- How do teams leave Nash open from three? The guy make it a ridiculous percentage. He has the best pullup three in the game.
-Gordon Giricek looked bigger than his stat-line showed last night. I think the Suns should try to get him more than 17 minutes. He is very active on the court. Yes the James Jones half court chuck foul was pathetic but it was incidental.

It wasn't incidental on James Jones's part......who shoots a half-court shot and leads with their knee so far forward like that. It's 1 thing to kick your leg out on a normal 3pt shot, but when you're running forward and shooting from halfcourt then it doesn't make any sense to do that (unless you're trying to knee a defender). For the refs to reward him for that is pathetic because there wouldn't have been any contact if his knee wasn't out there......but the refs were pathetic for the 1st 3 qtrs. We finally started getting some make up calls in the 4th and Amare got a couple of And-1s that he should've been getting all game.

Reggie Miller taught him how to do that.
