Great win. When they said in preseason that the bench players were the better defenders...they were not kidding. The bench is sooo much better on defense then our starters and it's not close. I love how scrappy this team is with Dudley, Amundson and Dragic out there.

Clutch shooting by Nash with that 3 but I could have choked him with the freaking turnovers and the one sequence where he turned it over and gave up the bucket and 1 back to back.

JRich - this is the JRich that the Suns brought here.

Dragic - A complete turnaround from the preseason and last season.

Dudley - what can I say. I was screaming since last year for this guy to get more minutes. He is making a huge difference on defensive end.

But that's not a surprise, is it? It was the same way for the second half of last year.

I can't believe that now we actually look forward to the bench guys coming into the game.

I have League pass, and consequently had to watch the Celtic broadcast of the game.. but as the game begun they flashed an interesting stat:

The Celtics were 27-2 on Friday nights @home in the past 3 seasons..

Make that 27-3 :D

It's scary how much Goran seems to fit now. The kid can be a force defensively, he is like a lockdown defender. Last year when the Suns starters would sit, the opposing team would come right back. Now the bench seems to put the opposing teams further behind. Hopefully our bench can be this great for the long run.

Go Suns!

Good win, this team is good, hopefully Sarver will stay out of the way, owners will be calling him soon offering old worn out all stars for barbs or goran. Hopefully he and his investors won't get star struck again.

Amare was steady and calm but had a couple of defenisve lapses that led to too easy chances for Celtics under basket.
Nash was tired in the 4th with effort on defense throughout the game, hence the two critical TOs in the 4th and he picked up the handle a bit too early. But we were smart enough to not fully rely on Nash's passes donw the stretch. As shooter, he is always clutch!
JRich was huge and was the needed 3rd dangerous scorer next to Amare and Nash. And his defense has improved a lot too. We wer smart enough to give him and Amare the a bit more to create than fully relying on Nash.

We should continue this trend. With Dragic's development, we could afford to rest Nash more and play him more off ball to save energy for endgame. In this game, Cets missed a lot of close-range shots and still shot what 56% despite our def. effort.

Dragic, Dudley, Lou, that's continuation what they starte end last season. We just need to have one of JRich, Hill, LB to have a big offensive game to complement Amare's and Nash's steady output. With a solid defensive effort like today's and expected improvement on def. skills with Amare and JRich if they keep paying attention to defense like this, we could surprise this year!

Go Suns!

No, they will finally offer Curry or JO for Amare, and half of the fans would love to do that trade!:bang:

I didnt see any of that... He had 4 fouls in the 4th he just couldn't be aggressive on defense and let some shots go in that he would usually have tried to block.

I feel like he's maximizing what he can get out of this team. We have four brainless defenders in our starting lineup, and he knows it.

Yep, it was interesting to see who was on the court at the end of the game. Dudley and Lou.

Goran is a revelation... Too bad DeJuan Blair is too....

Not drafting Blair and to a lesser extent Budinger were a couple of HUUUUUGE mistakes. Goes to show you the 2nd round pick isn't the throwaway many of us have thought it to be in the past.

Taylor Griffen? WTF?

We have the market cornered on crappy ass brothers with Lopez, Griffen, and Collins.

Oh and HooverDam - your contention that we should have drafted Pendergraph late in the first or early second - lol - as usual was waaaay off.

Blair is proving to be the muscle and rebounding we could have used. And the funny thing is 90% of the people on this board were saying as much.
:(

But with the team playing well so far it makes it easier to swallow.

He also had the defensive play of the game with the block on Rondo.

That was great.

I solid win and an entertaining game to watch.

The chemistry this year is much better and Alvin Gentry is solid on the bench.

Terry Porter + Nash + Shaq = Train Wreck.
They just never gelled on the court and Terry Porters coaching style was a disaster for this team.

It's ironic to me that Amare's limitations due to injury may eventually help him to become the complete player that many Suns fans envisioned. Especially this season, Amare has become more focused on defense and rebounding because of physical limitations due to being out of shape. Amare now seems on the verge of becoming that complete player.

Blessing in disguise, as I said earlier.;)

Did anyone notice how much the Celtics handled the ball after their own makes? They would grab it and throw it to a ref, or grab it and set in down on the ground. It seems to me they were purposefully trying to avoid the Suns running off of made shots. That should be a delay of game call.

I did. Well, it didn't help them, did it?;)

Absolutely, they did it every time. It actually was a good strategy by the Celtics, since the refs weren't calling any delays.

I also noticed that Dragic got called for a carry, but Rondo carries almost every time down the floor.

The Wizards did the same thing today.
