The Grizzlies basically beat the Suns a few nights ago, so I don't expect the Suns to lose two in a row to Memphis. And even though this is the Suns' 3rd game in 4 nights, a lot of key players didn't get consistent minutes - Dragic, Lopez, Childress, Warrick, and Dudley all played less than 20 minutes in at least 1 of the last 2 games.
This is actually pretty amazing (at least to me), but in yesterday's game vs. the Hawks, Grant Hill played just 22 minutes and Dudley played just over 20! Looking back, these two guys had a constant, overwhelmingly positive effect on the game pretty much at all times, and yet neither one of them played more even half the game.
The Suns are a strange bunch. At nearly every position, they have two players who can interchange with the other - a la Grant Hill and JYD; Nash and Dragic; Frye, Hedo and Warrick (you can probably count on at least 1 of these guys having a good game if the other 1 or 2 struggle); J. Rich and Childress - and there really isn't a dropoff in talent or performance. It isn't that the first team is particularly bad or that the second team is particularly great, but there is a consistency of a hair above average play from everyone that, after 48 minutes, should give this team a fighting chance on most nights.
It's like this team is one big Boris Diaw, but with Steve Nash's eating habits (think more mono and polyunsaturated fats and a whey protein smoothie instead of tubs of lard, a supersized vanilla shake with a side of McBaconator).
