again, a good thing the most profitable franchise in the league hurt their present and future by getting rid of KT. Nice to see the Grant Hill (a career 48% shooter) is having his worst statistical year of his career so far. DA system will save the league! He's a GREAT coach! (note: HEAVY sarcasm).

Hey Sarver, if you're really the number one fan, why don't you put your money where your mouth is and use that 8 million dollar TE to actually help the team on the floor, rather than your bank account.

He is too busy letting people like JC and Iavaroni (and it just so happens our defense looks absolutely atrocious now) go out the door.

With iavaroni's and KT's departure I think this could be the year we start to sink because our defense is just deplorable.

uh, this game and the last game ARE THE POINT. His knees make him UNDEPENDABLE, thus if you can improve your team by using him as a commodity by getting the best player in the game, you do it. Otherwise you risk the very real possibility that Amare ends up being... I REALLY don't want to say this... a rich man's Kenyon Martin... in other words, relatively useless.

im not saying trading amare for kobe is a bad deal or anything like that. there were a few mentions in last night's game thread that this team is perfectly fine when amare is out and they will be even better when he comes back, or something to that extent. that's what i am disputing with this game as my evidence

Why are you mad at sarver? If kurt thomas was on the team right now, how much do you think he would have played in this game?

It's all D'Antoni and his genius style. Because of circumstances the last 3 years he always has an excuse as to why the "style" doesn't work. I hope we have a fair chance this year, if at the very least so when we lose this genius doesn't have any excuses.

This board has gotten so overblown reactionary that I can't stand it anymore. I'm not sure I can handle coming here except to check for the news.

Im with you about overreacting. I think everyone tends to forget how we started last year. Plain and simple it takes awhile for this team to get revved up.

Compared to last seasons start we are the 96 bulls right now.

Again this is revisionist history- KT was a luxury for the playoffs.

Right or wrong how much run do you think he would have gotten tonight even if he was here?

I think everyone poo pooing what's going on right now forgets that our schedule coming out of the gate last year was BRUTAL as opposed to what should be a cupcake schedule this year, not to mention that Amare's hurt, again.

Uhh what was Sarver supposed to do to keep Iavaroni? He left for a promotion, a head coaching job.

It just isn't the same though, last year we lost against the mavs on a last second 2 pointer by dirk, and other games were relatively close and didn't look too bad even though we lost.

THIS year we got absolutey ass @#!$%^ by the lakers, struggled against seattle, and now we just lost to the hawks.

The whole scheme looks like it is collapsing, so many easy buckets and boards by the opposition.

Raja Bell has always been streaky shooter. His first year was pretty good but last year was very inconsistent. I hope he picks it up this year.

KT was regularly getting 20 minutes a game before he got injured last season and without Amare, he would have been starting, just like he did two years ago when we had one of the best records/defenses in the game. And if he wouldn't be, then DA is a certified moron.

If he was really important (and our defense lately seems to indicate so) you try to do something!

It just seems that he has a "if you don't want to work for us go ahead, your loss" type attitude and it is starting to add up against us.

DA is just too short sighted. Why couldn't he use Skinner a bit earlier to save other starters some energy. Defending against the players like Josh, Horfort and JJ will wear you down. Diaw had no energy in the late game and you wouldn't want to have Skinner on the court in the last min of a close game, would you?

I'm really starting to dislike raja. He reminds me of one of those guys in a pick up game who thinks he is a lot better than he is.

Why the hell he ever puts the ball on the floor and tries to take it to the basket, I have no idea. How often does he score, 5% of the time? And just chucking stupid threes.

He also seems to have issues with Amare, I think the underlying tension they have on the court is a problem.

my thoughts exactly.

d'antoni's system has been in the league for too many years now and everyone has figured out how to beat it. it's just a matter of having the man-power to do so, and if atlanta has that power then we're in some serious trouble this year.

Suns will be fine.

No one is looking that sharp in the West--the season is just getting started. The Rockets are looking good. Mavs and Spurs only looking average right now. Tonight the Spurs are struggling against winless Heat and just now get a five point lead in the third.

In a van...down by the river.
Amare's knees will be fine IMO(let him rest up) but getting pounded on the boards & scrambling around on defense needs to get fixed at some point. As far as the poor shooting goes...that's what we do....shoot & run, shoot & run. Thats the system & when they're not falling we lose. The system doesn't allow for us to make up for a poor shooting night by crashing the boards & getting stops on defense when we need em. Teams with some size up front & some shot blocking can at least give themselves a chance when the shooting goes cold.

but the spurs system will always work, and it will carry them through the year until they can pull their annual explosion in the playoffs. the mavs are still just the mavs until avery saves his players a bit and can carry some success to the playoffs. i like how he brings terry off the bench now, very popovich-esque. the suns are a very fragile team at this point. they can't get anything going outside of nash it seems. with tmac leading the way in scoring and the chase for the mvp and yao playing so well, i'm not even sure the suns will be able to handle the rockets this year

We just can't win 82 games. Amare has been in and out. Barbosa has been in a funk. We will be ok.
