The Valley so low.
Banks had 1 assist in 20 plus minutes; in about the same time, Nash had 11. I can't see how the team could handle that clash of styles.

At least Nash HAS a backup. The years he did not we only went to the Western Conference Finals.

Again there are alot of new faces to integrate with the team, Amare being one of them. The first 10-15 games will not reflect the teams abilities. The preseason has been alot of getting guys minutes in the system, with a little attention towards not embarrassing themselves. D"Antoni knows these games dont count towards the season record and now he's trying to get alot of the new pieces playing together. It will take less time to acclimate Barbosa, James Jones, Jumaine Jones and Banks with Nash than with each other. The ones I dont worry about fitting in are Diaw, KT, Marion, Nash, Bell(his 'D' gets him involved), its about the others fitting in to their roles. Yeah, were seeing alot of Banks and Barbosa struggling together as their roles are probably largely with each other. I suspect Barbosa will be used to score alot when Nash is on the bench and Banks will be asked to distribute and create offense then. They are bad now, but they must get better fast(alot of PT now) or the bench will stink. As far as Amare goes, he must also be incorporated, but since he's not running the offense, its not as complex. More time with Nash will help, but I dont think they are looking at bringing him along too quickly, maybe ramp his time up after the first 10-15 games after Banks and Barbosa have gelled a little. To do all this -and try to win- risks not doing any of it well. Be prepared for a rough ride the first 10-15 games, though Nash, Marion and Diaw will undoubtedly play more in the early season to get some wins. Now that Diaw has signed his contract, he wont be playing to avoid injury as much, but I dont expect him to let loose and drive to the hoop aggressively till the regular season.

I will do my best to help out. My annual midnight broom ride has been rescheduled to coincide with game time in LA and I will circle Staples using strong measures. This week will be spent practicing the essential cackle laugh. I try to avoid doing it throughout the rest of the year because people give me funny looks ............

Nash is going to be playing close to 35 minutes a game again; Banks isn't going to cut it any time soon.

I'm not that down on Banks just yet. He stayed in through the last two quarters and he had a pretty decent game, steals, etc. In all fairness, his assists could have been up if anybody's shots were falling but it was an unusually dismal shooting night, especially the second half.
