wtf!?!

just watched espn's top10 plays. parker is #1?????
he got 55pts and it took OT.

Amare's stats are much more impressive, and with no OT.

amare hasnt even been discussed on espn. damn...

This was a very impressive win. Back to back on the road, without Matt Barnes, an ineffective Shaq who was in foul trouble and only played 12 minutes. Yet late in the game it was the Pacers that looked like the tired team.

The Suns played hard to the end of the game and never gave up. That is one noticeable difference from last year. I like what I see so far.

Amare Stoudemire is 1 of only 4 players since 86-87 to get 45+ points/80fg% or better.

Amare Stoudemire is the only player since 86-87 to get 45+ points/80fg%/5 or more steals.

He was the first NBA player to notch at least 49 points with 10 rebounds, five assists and five steals since 1974, when Golden State's Rick Barry had 64 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists and five steals.

I dont think people realize just how rare his statline was. **** Tony Parker.

That's true but Parker is one of 3 players to have at least 55 pts and 10 assists... the other 2 are Jordan and Robertson. Both statlines are rare and impressive... arguably equivalent. I give the edge to Amare because he didn't need two overtime but Parker had an all-time performance.

How annoying is Tony Parker and his 55 points? This night is Amare's. What a game by him!
Wouldn't it be nice if he grows into this assassin role, ready to dominate a game at a moment's notice? ::daydreams::

This might have been the most dominant performance I have ever seen. Amare was completely unstopable.

Since the Suns won I figured I wouldn't get blasted for asking this:

How did Brandon Rush look for the Pacers? Was he even noticeable on the court to anyone who got to watch the game?

He was noticable. He has a quick first step that allowed him to get all the way to the rack. He made a 3 pointer from what I remember.

I was stuck on Danny Granger though. He looked a lot like Joe Johnson, only with a better shot.

wtf NBA TV didn't even have Amare's dunk on Foster in their top 10. What a joke..

None of their plays were any good compared to that dunk.

I don't understand how you can hate any player in a Suns jersey. Unless that player is openly bashing the team, I believe fans should show support for everyone stepping out on the court night in and night out fighting for that W.

Lets just put a end to this. Any "Suns fan" who hates Amare is a Jackass and should have his fan card revoked. He is the best thing to happen to this team in a long time - including Nash and Barkley. For every one percieved flaw he has five strengths. Some fans must not realize what we got.

I can understand having high expectations for your superstar - and after last night its hard not to think what is possible with him - but to constantly come down on his defeciencies is both ignorant and inane.

I think with Porter "valuing" what Amare brings to the game is going to change this perception quite a bit and take Amare to the next level.

Mostly because of where the had their playing success, DA is loyal to his "system" - Porter played in the NBA and knows the value of "players"....its a big difference.

Expect Sun Tzu to be in MVP conversations at the end of the year if he can continue to put it all together consistently like he did last night.

You are obviously a frustrated Nash hater. Its a pity that some fans just cant root for the players as a team. Amare is playing pretty good defense, and dishing very well. this may have been his best game as a pro, the dishing and defense is very nice. He also looks stronger, he's not getting pushed around anymore. His injury appears to be behind him. If this continues, he will earn all NBA honors, deservedly again this year.

I agree with pretty much everything you have to say about Amare, but I don't see how I can possibly make it into the MVP debate. ;)

To me, the most impressive aspect of Amare's performance was that he stepped up when the team really needed it. The team was tired and sluggish after playing the night before, they were missing Matt Barnes, and Shaq had limited and ineffective minutes. They needed Amare and he came through. That's what an MVP does!

Wow.. Diaw with a reverse alleyoop.

View from press row
It may be the first time since the Suns were in Europe that someone mistook Boris Diaw for Amaré Stoudemire. Everyone thought Stoudemire had his career scoring high when he made two free throws with 1:35 to go. The arena stat board and the official stat screen had him with 51 points, one more than his 50-point best in 2005 vs. Portland. But after the game, the tally was changed to 49. A Diaw reverse alley-oop dunk with 4:25 to go was credited to Stoudemire. Diaw joked how it made sense that Indiana scorers thought it was Stoudemire because "I never do that. That's not my style."

What makes a Nash hater, frustrated or not, in your eyes? Anybody who dares to suggest that this team should work into featuring Amare as the very core instead of Nash? Anybody who in addition suggests that Nash should try to emulate Stockton more by reducing his ballhandling while using more his shooting?:D:mulli:

You clearly use the great performance by stat to take shots at nash fans, as if stat should and will do this every night. Basketball is a team game, teams win, not individuals. Boston won last year, waS it pierce or allen or KG? When the spurs won parker was the finals MVP, but really Duncan AND manu were indispensible. The "bobblehead MJ mentality" lives on in many fans, that one guy is "it", and your comments are consistent with a bobblehead fan. I trust porter, or yes even DA, over any fan here in basketball knowledge, and I'll bet ALL owners would do the same. Im sure you would prefer that amare gfoes one-on -one every game, but that approach doesnt win. Amares effectiveness depends on taking what the defense gives, and if he's quickly doubled, its not to force it. Nash is there to get shots for other guys, so that amare gets room to operate and be the best he can be.

I'm a Nash fan as well as Amare fan. But I'm formost Suns fan. I'm not a diehard Nash fan who would see Nash do well as priority and hate everything that'd reduce Nash's stats and dominance within the team. Unlike them, I believe a Suns team with Nash as the dominant ballhandler a la DA's Suns and Mavs won't win us a title. Amare may not be good enough yet but he is our only chance and I'd be willing to suffer shorttime bad records to try to give him as many as possible chances to learn how to play like TD or Dream, or at least the level of game Karl Malone used to have. This implies however we should also go to Amare downlow for example, despite currently Diaw being better at back-to-basket and Nash being able to get easier shots for us in REGULAR season with his drives.:(

TD, Dream, and malone were great passers who didnt focus on filling a stat sheet, just on winning. Amare is learning how to be a good passer, its a great thing if he continues down that road because it will make him impossible to defend in the playoffs. PG's should handle the ballm more than PF's because they dont turn it over as much. The cavs are looking good because lebron isnt always handling the ball anymore. Amares role on the suns team is a big one, he's the most important piece if he keeps defending and passing like he did against the pacers. He is finally strong, not getting pushed around anymore after his MF surgery. Great teams have great ball movement, and that is very often facillitated by the PG, when you have a good one.
