How is Dallas playing well? They are 8-7 in their last 15 games, including consecutive losses against Indiana, Milwaukee, and Washington. IMO they're playing pretty inconsistently.

cause they have won 5 out of 6??? they were in a funk there for a while, but have beaten orlando, houston, new orleans and utah in last week or so.

Win Parker-less Spurs only 5 pts, so what?

I think Mavs is still trying different tactics.

I thought Vaughn was a nice pickup for the Spurs and something I wish the Suns could have done. However, I really would like to know if Marion had a sub par game or he gave up part of his game to play defense.

Vaughn was guarded mostly by Nash - that's why he had such a good shooting night :). And Nash got lucky Bowen missed that 3 pt late in the game 'cause he left him wide open.

Yeah this win wasnt a true test of the matchup, just like the suspension game was even more of a joke when the series was knotted at 2-2 last year. the positives are:

1) skinner looked good on Duncan and DA appears to realize skinners value as he was in at the end in place of amare.

2) Grant Hill is a new wrinkle for the spurs, one that tony parker will not solve. Grant Hills defense, on man and help was nice.

3) Nash is still obviously injured, has trouble making a shot and moving well. The suns will be better when he does get healthy.

4) Raja is not back, yet. He just didnt look like he moved well.

5) Diaw was a nice suprise, havent seem him play like that in a while. I actually thought the offense looked good going through him.

All in all the win wasnt as important as the suns learning how to take advantage of some matchups, the coaching staff getting used to playing skinner more.

Oh yeah, the mavs lost to the spurs with Duncan sitting, which is worse(for the spurs) than parker sitting.

He did a better job of fronting Duncan - Amare was always behind him

He was the unexpected - I'm sure the Spurs will adjust in the future.

BTW, I hate Bruce Bowen - what a freakin' cry baby. Even if the call was on someone else, he would stomp his foot, make faces and whine like a baby. And the way he's allowed to ride Nash's hip all they way is borderline criminal.

Skinner was stronger bodying up Duncan and yes he did switch it up and front to deny the entry pass at times. I hope the spurs do adjust to hill, it will leave someone else open. Hill scored 22pts largely because the spurs strategy is to leave the mid range game open to better cover the inside and 3 pt line. And they did limit amares inside game and LBs finishes, and the 3 point shooting of the suns, but somethings gotta give when you overplay the 3 point line. Hill is also an extra threat on the dribble penetration, meaning he can punish you for overplaying him. I look forward to the spurs adjustments, and to Nash and Bell getting healthy.
