I just saw a few plays where they were running before the rebound was secure. that doesn't help your rebounding one bit. rebound first....then run. I know nellie teaches his guys to run back...even before the rebound is secure. is this what coach D does? because I saw at least three or four times where guys ran back before the shot or rebound.

I'm joking Mav guy.

Al "Pretty Boy" Jefferson and his managers just took the suns to school, and then to the cleaners.

Marion 3 rebounds in 32 minutes.
Amare 6 rebounds in 32 minutes.
Diaw 2 rebounds in 23 minutes.
Hill 4 rebounds in 22 minutes.
Skinner 2 rebounds in 14 minutes.

I think this is below season average for all our front-court players, way below for Marion.

Twolves 22-3 advantage in offensive rebounds, 48-26 overall.

There is no way to win a game like this. Amare was part of the problem, but not the only one at fault obviously.

we need a defensive big man. if this game doesn't hammer that point home, i don't know what does. if amare hadn't gotten in foul trouble we might not have won, but his scoring prowess would have netted him 50 tonight. and i'll bet that would have gotten us a lot closer. b/c he's a terrible defender and foul magnet he will always have limited court time against good offensive centers due to the fact that he HAS to guard them and will continue to pick up fouls.

i never thought i'd say this, but even a diop or kwame brown would be useful on this team, just to keep amare on the court.

At least he might have a chance to put Al to the bench with some fouls, which would make our defense a lot easier. Offense is often the best defense against those dominant scorers: Let them work on both ends. They did it to Amare and worked. But DA is all about "sharing the ball", "we'll outscore you".

Stop bitching Suns fans! Be grateful we have the most efficient offense in the entire league 4 years in a roll!

What is this defensive end you speak of? You mean that they can't shoot threes?
avery is still trying to get diop to throw it down consistently from 2 ft. Ironically I've seen him attempt one three and he made it. It was a trash basket though. It kept a mavs 3 point record alive LOL
Nellie used to have 3 point center's though. still does.

Shhhh...its not DA's fault. I heard the SUNS are only paying Mike to wear a nice suit ,complain to the refs, call an occasional practice, and preach energy.
This was a very bad regular season loss IMO.
I could've given DA a pass for not having his guys ready to play in the first half but the EXACT same team came out of the locker room to start the 2nd half as well.
He did make an adjustment on A.Jefferson with 2:00 minutes to go after he'd already piled up 30+points.
On the positive side....we won't be facing the T-Wolves in the first round of the playoffs.

N. Phx
- Amare needs help. B. Skinner has reverted back to the journeyman that he is. PHX needs a smart, no scoring, banging, big man that can give the team a solid 10-15 minutes per game. I know they're hard to find, but PHX needs to somehow get a banger in here. Now.

Who would fit (despite their contract status)?: Paul Milsap, Nick Collison, Brendan Haywood, Jeff Foster, or a Kurt Thomas (obviously). PHX needs a "chemistry-fix", hopefully adding a small piece that pays big dividends with the chemistry on the court.

And, I would give up L. Barbosa to get it done.

I'm really displeased with the way Barbosa has progressed. I believed that he would have become one of the premier guard defenders in the league, with the help of his quickness and length.

Instead, he's turned (or remained) a shoot-first scoring guard... with no conception of how the game is played at the point. It's not like the coaching staff asks him to devote his entire game to getting his teammates involved, however he seemingly can't get it done for any length of time.

Despite what Barbosa may think, scoring guards are easily replaced in the NBA. They're a dime a dozen. It's just really apparent the team freezes when he's running the show (for the short amount of time that is).

- Al Jefferson is the epitome of a stud. Doesn't possess unworldly athletic ability. But, gets the job done by taking it right at your throat.... and obviously not phased by much. Kudos to him for having a helluva game.

- Shawn Marion acts and looks like a man without a soul this year. He's so nonchalant, and looks out of his comfort-zone. Unless Nash is delivering the ball to him on the break or he's spotting up from 3, he looks out of sorts.

He'll mix in a energetic game every now and then, but it's definitely a different guy out their on the court.

- Grant Hill looks like he's lot about 20 lbs. since his sickness. That worries me.

- I'm not worried about Nash and Amare. Give me those two during crunch time of any game... especially the post-season. That two-man game is golden.

- For the few basketball gurus on here, Mike D. had nothing to do with this loss. Only thing I would have done different is taken out Barbosa/Diaw, and countered with Marks/Strawberry in the 2nd.

I disagree with you there. My complaints w/DA had nothing to do w/the substitutions tonight. Preparation, and slow to identify the problem that was A.Jefferson(especially after the first time he killed us earlier this season). Not to mention it would appear that the SUNS took a 15 minute nap at halftime.

Badly.

It's astounding how the Suns make other teams mediocre players look like stars. The Suns give opposing teams a freeway to the basket and do not fight for rebounds. Anyone have any doubts the Suns can contend in the playoffs for rebounds and play defense in the middle. I sure do.

I do have to give the T-Wolves credit for getting Jefferson out of the Garnett trade. This kid is a monster and I think long term the T-Wolves will get the better end of the trade.

Marion for Dalembert/Young

Marion for just about anybody. He wants out and I believe in addition by subtraction. There is a rotten apple on the Suns team. It may not be Marion, but since he has an opt out next season I would start with him.

Is that you Mike?

hahahah

Too bad, Mike's offense is just give the ball to Nash and run run run. I wanted offense designed to get opponents' dominant scorers work on defense and into foul troubles. This is however too old-fashioned and boring of a notion, not sexy or avangard enough for the pretty Suns.:D
