Do you think the Suns future draft pick of CAVS may have gone up? Why not ride the wave of "The Next Big Thing", "King James" and say the Cavs will make the playoffs in the week East next year and trade the pick? Package the pick with a huge long contract (Can you think of one??) and get an expiring contact and first rounder out of the deal or bank on the fact that Cavs will make the playoffs and deal are #17 and a not so huge long contract for a 2nd rounder and one year vet?

Even if everyone assumes the cavs make the playoffs next year, the lowest the pick will be is 14. That is only 3 spots better than where we are now. I dont think there is a great chance of a team trading an expiring contract and a future first for the 14th (at best) pick in the draft.

That pick would only be useful in trade when used in a trade strictly with the Cavs, or in some kind of three-way involving the Cavs.

I'm wondering if Toronto would be interested in a Googs, #17, and maybe something else for their first rounder and Antonio Davis.

It hurts us financially, but it would help the Raptors and get us an early pick. Plus, it lands us a good veteran big man. For the Raps, they get a huge reprieve after next season when Googs goes off the books, along with getting themselves a decent big man like Collison or Zarko at the #17.

Outside of the money issues, that might be an interesting thought. But then again, they do have the most valuable pick in the draft outside of the top 3, and just how important is clearing money for them?

IMO Googs will finish his contract. Jerry gave his word to Googs that he would not trade him when he signed. Jerry is a man of his word (Old School Style). I would rather take the hit this year and let Googs ride into the sun set. You never though he might be usefull this year.

I don't understand this. If so did Googs gave his word to Jerry that he will be usefull the whole time?

Googs has a nice trade kicker in his contract also...

In my opinion it is pointless to include Tom Gugliotta in any hypothetical trades at this point. The Suns desperately need his expiring contract to make room for Shawn Marion's maximum deal.
