Suns are in first place and have a similar record compared to the past few seasons, yet all of a sudden Suns fans are crying like Ronald Reagan died. What is wrong with you people? Some fans are so spoiled its funny. Suns didn't go on a 17 game winning streak like they were supposed too!!! Fire D'antoni! Trade Amare! Kill Diaw! ...ect.

Why doesn't everyone just chill the **** out?

05/06=eliminated. Why? No defense or rebounding
06/07=eliminated. Why? No defense or rebounding
07/08=? Did we add defense & rebounding? No.
There's my reasons for concern.

04/05 Injuries + inexperience
05/06 No Amare!
06/07 Eliminated because of David Stern. Suns were the best team but they got screwed! Not just game 5 but the games before too. The Spurs were not the better team!

Your responses, while valid, do not dispute mojo's. You haven't been watching the Phoenix Suns if you don't see the 900pound gorilla in the room when they lose.

you forgot to mention last year no back up for nash.

we added:
Skinner: Defense, Rebounding, toughness, hustle, depth at the 5 spot
Grant Hill- defense/backup to nash (sort of)

so while we didn't exactly bring in marcus camby and kobe, we did at least somewhat address our needs. are there still needs? sure. the spurs had needs last year (and still do). Boston has needs. Everyone does, it's just a matter of whose needs will show up less against the next team.

The Spurs were not the better team!

i would beg to differ. they most certainly outplayed us for most of the series. it still could have gone either way, but they were the better team last year.

That's just the liberal media that has you thinking that way! We were better than the Spurs last year and if Tim Donaghy (how ever you spell his ugly name) and the other refs didn't bail Duncan out every play we would have won! But anyways, that was last year. Spurs aren't playing so well this year and niether are the mavs. I think we have a better shot this year than last. (As long as we don't have to play the ****ing Hornets!!)

liberal media? give me a break. i watched the games. yes there were dumb fouls called on us. so what? amare can't play defense so he gets no respect on that end. we didn't even start KT the first game, we deserved to lose it. our boneheaded players got off the bench, that's our own fault. sure horry was a prick for what he did but we gave him exactly what he wanted....a reaction. we had no answer for parker all series long, marion should not have been guarding him. it's our own fault for not letting banks have a shot at it (or at some playing time). we let tim duncan score at will, we let parker and ginobili do their things. we lost fair and square. The mavs are doing fine this year. they are such a deep team it's unbelievable. maybe they realized that they need to dominate the post-season, not the regular season so they haven't done as well last year. the spurs are struggling now, you're correct. But a team with DUncan, ginobili, parker, and popovich does not stay down for long. they will be back, and we still have to prove we can beat them in a series.

i really can't complain much about this year so far. however, the stretch from feb 13th to feb 24th will make or break our season imo. We play golden state, dallas, lakers, pistons, and celtics consecutively. after those games i'll have a better idea of where we stand.

I will not be convinced that we addressed our needs my friend.
Hill is a defensive upgrade over Nash & Barbs but he's not an upper echelon defender.
He was an offensive upgrade to give us more experience, depth, and guy that could create a shot with the shot-clock winding down besides Nash & Amare. His defensive help has been a pleasant surprise but i would hardly call Hill a defensive addition.
As for the Skinner, he was brought in to help defensively & on the boards & he has at times. He was a last minute addition though after the K.T. penny pinching trade. It's turned out to be 1 very good signing & 1 decent signing IMO.
Thing is...defense & rebounding have been a severe weakness here for the last 4 yrs under DA (it's not like this problem just crept up on the organization 6 months ago) so where's the committment to simply fix the problem?
IMO ( & it's waaaay to early to tell obviously) is that Steve Kerr was brought in as GM to try & change this repetitive post-season weakness.
The true direction of Kerr will come to light for all to see at the end of the '07/'08 road.

I don't buy that. The only game they looked clear cut better than us was game 6.

Game 1 came down to Nash not being able to play in the last minute. Had he been in the game, the Suns may have took that one. Spurs were certainly better than the Suns without Nash. We all knew what would happen when he went out. Same thing you'd expect to see if Tim Duncan had to sit out in the final minute.
Game 2 - Suns blew out the Spurs
Game 3 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvkKdXLwt0U
Game 4 - Suns won
Game 5 - No Amare and Diaw and they still only lost by 3

Exactly! And i wish people would stop blaming Amare and Diaw for leaving the bench when Nash got slammed by Little bob. It was a stupid rule and Diaw and Amare were not looking to fight. It was natural reaction. What was unnatural was the way Stern punished them and played the "I'm helpless, the rules are the rules" bs. It's not the 10 commandments we were talking about and he would later prove that the rules are in fact flexible by letting all the refs off the hook with the whole gambling thing. The LEAST thing Suns fans can do is stand up for Amare and Boris instead of blaming them!

Who was complaining about Suns regular season record?

Suns are a concern because they look smaller and more fragile up front this season... and other teams have re-loaded for the better.

But if Suns are hitting shots they will beat everyone...

sorry but when 2 players rush off the bench towards the spot where one of their players just got checked they are most certainly looking to fight or throw some words out there. i don't blame them for supporting nash but rules are rules, they broke them.

I wanted to let at least a year pass before I confessed this, but I fully believe Amare was fitting for some fisticuffs when he left the bench. He had a look of determination in his face, wasn't even looking at Nash, and walking at an angle that would pass by nash and toward the crowd around Horry.

Every time some board member tells every one to chill out, we need to post this statement by Mojo. Every time. We aren't dealing with quantum physics folks... telling board members to ignore it is silly.

Agree, but who was Diaw trying to fool? The French haven't made a stand against much in over 100 years.

Yeah that Boris Diaw is just a trouble maker looking for a fight, he's real aggressive physically, just looking to take a swing at someone. Kinda sounds dumb when you think about it.

Oldgreg, give it up. This board (and a lot of Suns fans in general) have lost their minds and seem to love loathing the Suns and their style. Its fine by me, I guess Ill be partying after the Suns win game 7 of the Finals 122-111 by myself :D

Nah, don't give up. One voice of reason in a thread almost makes up for 20 posts of negativity.

Seriously, if anyone at this point feels like the Suns don't have a great chance to win it all, I question whether they're even Suns fans.

Maybe sitting in a wheel chair all day makes them a bit to arguementative. OK I´m sorry, that was mean. But on the other hand, you shouldn´t go there; questioning people´s "Fanhood". I think the frustration lies therein that after thinking or feeling 3 seasons long, that this team is so good, and watching them lose that way to SA, no fan wants to go through that again. After watching the Jazz lose twice to MJ I hung it up for a while. So there IS a search for answers. I do miss a certain scrappiness on the defensive end from some players, and have never understood the sense of all five players running away from a rebound situation. While I´m on the subject, can someone explain in some numbers or logical way, why Nash is supposedly so bad at "D". For his age and size, I think he´s ok. Works hard at it. How about Diaw´s wierd way of leaning forward just bending at the waist?

Isn´t it about leadership here, or the lack thereof. Same goes for will power to defend and rebound.
