The Suns owe the Lakers no favors. This is malpractice.
They bought out a player and that allowed the Lakers to sign him. He still had to clear waivers for any teams ahead of the Lakers and thus it was not a direct favor. Had we agreed to a trade to take on a dead weight contract for Chandler's expiring to help the Lakers that would be a different story, but nothing like that happened.

Much ado about absolutely nothing IMO. From what has been reported, we wanted to move on from Chandler. We had already negotiated a deal to make it happen, both sides were just waiting for a landing spot that Tyson had interest in. I don't get the rancor?

Agreed. Residual spite from last night's game.

If the Suns did the Chandler buyout to benefit themselves (and indirectly send Chandler to the Lakers) I have no problem with it.

I do have a problem with the move if it was done solely to do Lebron (Lakers) a favor.

The Suns helped send Nash to the Lakers but got two first round picks out of it.

It is addition by subtraction. Getting rid of Chandler is good for the Suns regardless of the reason they did it. Also there was absolutely no way they were going to be able to trade him for any sort of value (like Nash) unless it involved the Suns taking back a horrible contract.

Well, I do have a problem if it went down exactly as Sidery and whoever implied but it makes no sense to me given that we'd been looking for a landing spot for awhile. But if Lebron and Jones actually came up with the idea of a buyout together, then that is worrisome. GM's make deals like that with other GMs and agents but dealing directly with a player on another team, I think that has to be a big no-no in the eyes of the league. But I won't believe it happened that way until there's real evidence, not this BS.

I think trades and buyouts need to be done through proper NBA channels. Otherwise it gets into a gray area. I have no problem with both teams benefiting from the transaction unless they were competing for a playoff spot.

It doesn't bother me. The Lakers and Suns are not in competition for anything during the tiny remaining window of Chandler's career -- or James's, for that matter. Maybe they'll be rivals again in five years, but they aren't now, so who cares where Chandler goes or who he helps?

Fired over the phone? You have been working as a team with your GM for five years and then you fire him over the phone? Robert, you are a jerk. There is no way around.

BTW, McD seems relaxed, energetic, and not so awkward in this interview. He recently got an extension so it seems that he is getting paid to do nothing. Relax young man, assess, enjoy yourself. Get a good gig.
Yeah, sure! Enjoy your time off making millions for killing the Suns.

Don’t understand how you can love the guy.

You guys are acting like it wasn't a move that was good for the Suns. Chandler didn't want to be here and the team wasn't benefiting from him being on the floor or in the locker room. The Lakers were willing to take on some of his salary and it saved the team a few million dollars in their buyout agreement.

Why did Chandler want out? He'd supposedly turned down offers to be dealt the last 2 years when we started tanking. What's different now, that LA would take him? How would he know LA would want him? He seemed happy to mentor Ayton this summer whenever he was spoken to. Something about this whole situation has been off. It doesn't matter if you think it helps the Suns because it really doesn't. We haven't signed anyone for that roster spot he opened, if we did this over the summer it would have made sense because then we could have kept Harrison or Reed. I don't see how this helps the Suns nearly as much as it helps the Lakers.

I forget just where it came from but there was an insider type report several months ago that said Tyson had been unhappy and wanted out (and it wasn't an offseason decision, it had been in play for awhile). Hopefully someone with better search skills than me can find and post it.

He's already helping the Lakers more than he ever helped us. The losing culture here appears to be a major factor in players uniquely under-performing here. We have become this decade's version of the 1990's Clippers.

The losing culture here starts at the top. Any denial of this fact at this point is ridiculous.

JC, have a freaking beer or something. I swear you are the most high-strung poster on this board.

What prompted that? I look up and JC hasn't even commented on the page.
I quoted 1Sun, and the JC isn't a person, it's a poor attempt to not offend anyone by posting Jesus Christ.

Instead I offended you. And probably JC. And most certainly 1Sun. I'll stop now.

This is why the outlook for the Suns is discouraging. The front office does not even talk to the fans anymore.

That's why you should use the non-denominational version of "Jesus Christ", "Cheese and Crackers".

Ha! It was compounded by the fact that I have 1Sun on Ignore and the quote didn't show.

My god McD really screwed us over...this is worse than last year. Different personnel and coaching but the same result.

The root of the problem is who set this all up and the regime that he put in place.

Ahh. I was wondering what I said. I read a couple of pages of Chap yelling at no one and then all of the sudden at me! :)

OK. Except that I am a very religious person so . . .

Some days ya just can't win.

I keep thinking that McD was fired, and he ended up with the best outcome this season, because he's moved on and we are still suffering with the Suns.
