Considering the Suns overall age I don't think 4 days is to much, but a lot of teams tend to have off games even after 3 days. The Spurs on the other have the Kings at home and then the Wolves tomorrow. Hopefully this will give the Suns an edge and maybe a few extra days to prep on the D for San Antonio... What do you think?

I think 4 days rest is generally too much. However, with Porter trying to incorporate another PG (whoever that may be) and hopefully trying install some defense, it may not be all bad.

Aren't the Suns like 9-2 or something like that when Shaq gets 2+ days of rest?

I wouldn't doubt that you are correct. Shaq really seems to play well after some extended rest. Also Nash could probably use some rest as well. However, I worry about the timing issue when teams are off too long. My worries are not about Shaq and Nash but the team overall.

I wouldn't worry, the home team is at a signifigant advantage on Christmas. They almost always win.

All I want for Christmas is Manu's two front teeth... knocked out.

The Spurs are a great organization and once more have assembled a great team around their big three. This Christmas Day matchup will be entertaining. I hope the Suns can keep it close and with luck close it out at the end. The Suns seem to have a bad record in mid-day games though... like they haven't fully awakened yet.

Why is Bruce Bowen getting a free pass in this discussion? IMO, he always gets away with a number of cheap fouls.

I'm not sure but I guess because I've always know as has everyone that Bowen is a "good defender" aka dirty/cheap/gets away with ****. I thought for the most part Horry was a pretty stand up guy until I watched all the cheap hard crap they were pulling wear to Nash down. Which sadly worked. No Nash no championship. :(

Bowen and Horry merely implement what Popovich believes is necessary to get that win.

spurs won 8 out of the last 10, or something to that affect.

that bothers me a little, and that the suns have "a lot" of time to rest.

Completely true. Which means we could have beaten them and everyone knew it! They just started being "bully's" and got away with it along with the suspensions it just killed us. I don't know, maybe that means we didn't have a championship mentality.

If the suns play zone against the spurs tomorrow, I have feeling Manu will pick it apart.:(

That's a given, if they do. I reviewed the Denver game. Almost everytime they played zone, they got punished by a made 3pt jumper, for at least 4-5 times, or some other wide open jumpers nailed.

JR Smith, and Blake in the previous game, got hot hands and encouraged with a couple of open shots while we played zone. In this vein, not only Manu, but Mason, Parker, Finley and their white center all could have field day with our zone.

The most interesting part of playing the Spurs will be figuring out who will play. It appears that Mason is replacing Bowen (30 minutes versus 21). How good is Mason as a defender and can he deal with Nash?

The front line of the Spurs will be curious. KT is playing 14.8 minutes a game and Oberto is playing 16.7 minutes. Bonner is playing 21.4 minutes. He is shooting well, but cannot pretend to defense Amare.

I look for a very high scoring game.

the spurs might be best off starting oberto because of his size and defensize ability over Bonner.
