100-89. A 30-11 fourth quarter. This lineup is wonderful, can really defend, moves the ball extremely well, and execute calmly.

NBA refs man.. Shaq on that dunk after the whistle, again Amare would get a T if he pulled the rim like that.

That's as good a 4th quarter as I've ever seen by a Suns team. And it was without Amare and Nash--and with Shaq making free throws.

Yay!! Good job in the 4th. :) Wow...they just dominated in the 4th, outscoring the Grizzlies by 20.

Suns shot 10/17 (59%) from the field in the 4th. :)

Grizzlies shot only 3/18 (17%) from the field in the 4th...eep.

I am looking forward to rewatching this game in HD tomorrow, mainly because I have to.

A win is a win, and we got it done without Nash and Amare. Shaq dominated, Barbosa was on fire, and Hill was everywhere.

Let's Go Suns

Mayo went off big against us, with 4/20 shooting!

I feel so good at being right about it! :)

Thats the type of team-defensive effort this team needs to get back to.
Probably the worst 3 quarters of basketball played by the SUNS to start off..... yet the defensive effort kept them within striking distance despite missing shots(and the fact that it was the GRIZZLIES helped too:D). This is why i like the slower tempo though, had the SUNS just been satisfied in pressing & taking stupid jumpers(and missing them) all game long Gay & Mayo probably would've gotten hot and it would've been difficult overcoming our poor early shooting.

Great 4th quarter to put an inferior team away. Shaq did great on the second night of a back-to-back, carrying us again. Perhaps he won't be held out anymore. Barbosa coming through with 28 points when no one else in the backcourt seemed to be able to do anything. Disappointing that Richardson had an off night when we needed him the most. Amare: no comment.

way to be THE MAN again Duh'mare.

what a joke he is. We're already down, playing on a back to back, needing every win we can get and he's having a monsterous game... and he gets kicked out.

building a team around him in the future is futile.

I don't know what Amare said but I don't see how he, or anyone could have expected to be ejected so quick. If he said some naughty words I can see giving him a T as a warning to stop but have never seen anyone get 2 Ts right away just for talking. When they said he was ejected I thought I must have missed a previous T.

That said I really wish he would stop complaining. I don't think he gets called fairly but him complaining doesn't help and I especially hate it when he keeps arguing with the ref on one end of the court while his man scores on the other.

Well to be fair, it seemed EVERYTHING was called on the Suns and just a little on the Grizz. There were some fouls that aren't even considered fouls in the rule book...

continually impressed by Shaq and Grant Hill. especially Shaq. Dude looks like he turned back the clock 2 or 3 years and he's starting to become consistently a full on force no matter who's guarding him.

Memphis referees played better than the players this game and they still lost. Talk about failure.

Shaq does it all, score, rebound, pass, block shots and is the soul of the Suns defense. As Cheesebeef said, he looks like he has rolled back the clock.

First three quarters were just ugly. Fourth quarter may be the Suns' best 4th quarter in the last couple of years. It was amazing to watch- they were actually playing outstanding defense. Grant Hill and Shaq are amazing. Hill looks like an all-star point forward with 15 points, 7 boards, 4 assists just one turnover, and 6 steals, and as fas as Shaq goes- WOW!! He looks like he is 30, not 36 (thank God Tom and Scott reminded us that he and Hill were 36). 24 points on 8/13 FG and 8/10 FT, along with 13 boards and 3 blocks, right after a 28 point (10/12 FG and 8/12 FT), 12 rebounds, 2 blocks and assists game the night before.
What I loved the most was how Barbosa scored 28 points without forcing anything.
JRich and Barnes both had off nights, but they defended well, and did all the little things players need to do when they are struggling offensively.
Outstanding fourth quarter. It looked like an old Spurs vs. Suns game except that the Suns were playing the role of the Spurs.

Oh, and for the record- Amare is not the man. Nash is not the man. Shaq IS the man!

Suns outscored the Grizzlies 28 to 8 in fast break points and outscored them 58 to 18 in the paint. :)

Agreed. I hope Amare realizes this because Shaq has earned it. I'm disappointed Amare hasn't been able to finish the past two games especially with Nash out of the lineup. Shaq really knows how to run the Suns offense from the inside out. Grant Hill also has been outstanding.

Just to mention this, Amundson did a nice job today, 10 points and 8 rebounds in 18 minutes. Glad we have found a solid backup PF.

Dudley and Dee Brown did their job filling up minutes when starters needed rest. Basicly they did well in defence. Brown had 3 turnovers in 15 minutes, he still needs time to develop his PG skill.

I am not sure how good of a teacher Shaq is or how good (willing?) a student Amare is, but Amare could learn so much from Shaq in the next year or two.
I've already seen Amare make some touch-passes inside that Shaq is so good at making.
What I would really like to see is Shaq teaching Amare how to calmly deal with double teams. It was a thing of beauty today- one of the guards came over to double Shaq, Shaq calmly hold the ball out of his reach, looks around, finds open Amare who drives to the hoop for an easy one.
Another thing Shaq could teach him is the psychological/mental part of the game. If Amare can learn how to be calm when things are not going his way, he will be literally unstoppable.

Agreed. Amundson did a great job on both ends of the floor, and I am really beginning to see why Bobcats' fans loved Dudley. Brown made some stupid mistakes, but I did like what he was doing on defense, and I think he will earn more minutes for himself as he gets more familiar with the team.
