Someone on RealGM, not a Suns fan suggested Tyler Johnson, Josh Jackson and #6 for Chandler Parsons and #2.

I believe I would do that trade.

No, we don't "all know" this, quite the contrary. Some of us were surprised by how well Booker played the point without a shooting guard or a power forward out there with him. Beal would work great opposite Booker imo although I'd always slightly worry that he might return to the Beal of old that came up injured every year.

You really weren't paying attention to what happened to both the team and Booker when Booker was forced to play the point, were you? You apparently see his raw assist numbers and nothing more (including all the close games he single-handedly lost for us because his decision making, basic passing and shot selectio. at the point are horrible, with him always forcing things that shouldn't be forced)?

Not in a million years. Parsons kills all of our cap space for a player who can't play, and we would still be without a starting point guard or power forward.

Making up more stuff huh? I watched every minute of every game, I'll take that over any imaginary stats you can dream up. I'm not saying he came through in every close situation but the idea that we lost a bunch of games because of him is silly. Especially if you knew enough to realize he was playing hobbled for much of the season, the healthy version of Devin was incredible. Rip him because you don't think he'll ever be fully healthy and I'm okay with that but this narrative you're trying to establish is BS.

This feels like he realizes he's been proven wrong, and instead of admitting to it, he's decided to double-down and go even more extreme and ridiculous.

If (IF) we're convinced that Morant is the real deal, of course we'd make that trade - it would be foolish not to. I don't know why Memphis would do it though.

This is the excuse all of the Point Book proponents make - That he was ineffective because he was injured. Sounds a lot like the excuses that were made for Igor last year. The fact is that Booker is not a point guard. Never has been. Never will be. And Booker himself will be (and has been) the first to tell you that.

If you want to go by Booker's words, he's the one that when asked late in the season how come he was playing so well said "I'm finally healthy". But even playing at less than full strength he was still easily our best player, which should tell you something about the roster. And I'd love to see that quote from Booker where he says "I am not a point guard, I have never been a point guard and I never will be a point guard". I know he's talked about being new to the position and it not being his first choice, hopefully you have something much stronger to back up your claim?

It would be like the Suns are giving their expiring contracts for the Grizzlies expiring contracts to swap picks. Why on earth would they do that.

They would want something else if they are not in love with Morant.

If Memphis is convinced that they aren't going to offload Conley this summer, maybe they don't think getting a Morant at #2 is a sound investment. But getting Tyler to backup Conley as they pursue other PG options, and Josh along with the #6, where the could get a guy like Coby White, maybe it makes sense to them. Instead of getting 1 young player while having another with an albatross of a contract, they get 2 young players and Tyler Johnson, who is arguable as good if not better than Parsons.

Memphis loves morant they've started since the lottery they are drafting him, they would hang up the phone before the sun's even finished that trade proposal

That's if you believe them. That's the perfect thing to say for teams like the Suns that are interested in perhaps moving up.

No he doesn't.

He has 1 year left at 25 million. - But it would make getting Randle nearly impossible.

The starting PG would be Ja Morant.

I would do that deal too, but I don't think the Memphis would.

Well, they would presumably do it because they think Josh Jackson is worth the difference between the 2 and 6.

He could be - but it is not a bet I would make at this point.

That... and that Tyler Johnson is a better option at that contract than Parsons is. And I would venture to say, yes, that is the case. Tyler gets a lot of flak on this board for some reason.

I can see the bolded part, but the actual payoff for them isn't enough IMO to move from 2 to 6 in what is being labeled by many as a 3 player draft.

I do think trading #6 for Dinwiddie and #17 will be a real possibility based upon the Nets free agency plans. Dinwiddie is an OK pg--better than what we have had, but not that special. At least we know he can produce in this league. #17 can still get us a pf with potential in this draft (Kabengele please).

I mean if we are talking about Coby White vs Dinwiddie - yeah I would do that deal I guess. But if Garland or Culver is still on the board I would be against it.

The Grizzlies would have to really like Josh Jackson to do this. Otherwise the teams are essentially swapping expiring contracts for the Suns to move up four spots.

Well considering they are in rebuild mode with an aging pg (arguably the most important position) who wants out and you have a pg prospect that has franchise changing potential then yes I absolutely believe them, but if you want a real trade scenario that Memphis might consider it'd be this

Memphis gets:
Mikal bridges
TJ
#6
Top 3 protected pick next year

Sun's get:
Parsons
And #2

That might actually make them take it

Sorry, but I think you're in a fantasy world in this draft. Morant is the #2 prospect, but in an actual decent draft (like last year for example), he wouldn't even be top 5. This board tends to either overvalue or undervalue our assets, and you are definitely undervaluing them.

JC simply posted that he didn't think Memphis would do it, which I somewhat agree with, but I was speculating on what it would take for them to consider it. We strongly disagree on that point, obviously.

Wouldn’t hate it but wouldn’t feel great about it either. I don’t have any faith in Jones/Bower drafting ability so I’m leaning towards yes but you still shoot for Jrue.
