Hunter will join Suns head scout Bubba Burrage, a former long term scout of the Kings. I didn't even know about the hire of Burrage.

Well, but let's be honest: If you were the Suns' front office, would you want to make a big deal out of hiring someone named "Bubba Burrage" to be your head scout? That's not a name that suggests insight into basketball talent. You aren't going to hear some inner-city prep kid say, "Gee, I sure hope Bubba Burrage likes my game."

I understand the name thing. :)

However, if I were the Suns FO I would want someone to know that there is someone with basketball knowledge making decisions besides Lance Blanks. Bubba Burrage being an advanced scout for the Kings (who have been able to accumulate talent over the years) means something to me.

BTW, the 1st and only hungarian NBA player ever, Kornél Dávid is the director of international scouting for the Suns.

I hope he is good. The Suns PR people should get these names up front and center if they want the fans to believe they have the smarts to rebuild. A quiet Lance Blanks does not give encouragement.

Do you know if Kornél Dávid was involved in drafting Dragic? That was not a bad second round pick.

No, he wasn't because he was hired by the Cavs in Octobor 2008 as an international scout. He joined to the Suns staff in the autumn of 2010.

I know Kornél because once I have made a long interview with him, he is a smart guy (especially at professional athletes' standards), a true professional and NBA-fanatic.

For those Suns fans who speak Hungarian :D, a TV-interview with him:

Thanks so much. This is encouraging. Now if I can only learn to speak Hungarian. :)

Is that you doing the interview?

:), no, not at all.

My interview was done for a hungarian NBA-website.

Still you are a very good contact. Perhaps you can keep us appraised of anything you hear about players that might be in the loop internationally.

In a van...down by the river.
I dont know if Hunter can scout, but IMO he would've been a fantastic backup PG/off guard to compliment Nash and Barbosa a few years ago. I liked his game for the most part.

I'd take Lindsay Hunter RIGHT NOW over Telfair.

Hcsilla - no worries, there will be another Hungarian in NBA and I hope it`s gonna be soon:) I remember when first Polish player (Cezary Trybanski) came to NBA and ... well. He wasn`t the most influential player in the history of this league;-) now we do have Gortat which means that everything`s possible.

Btw. it`s funny story. Trybanski was traded from PHX to Knicks, this trade involved another Polish guy (Maciej Lampe). Few months later PHX traded Lampe alongside with Jacobsen and Vroman for future draft pick and J.Jackson. This future 2nd round pick was ... Marcin Gortat;-)
