Suns down 98-104 with 38 seconds left in the 4th quarter. Pathetic.

As said, I blame this on Gentry and bad defense, particular by Nash late in the game.

When they started to grind back and getting a comfortable lead middle in 3rd, they stopped going to Amare and took what NO gave us, Frye firing away which was the worst for us. While on the other side, Sangaila drew Amare out of paint and Okafor had his way with Frye. They had never an answer for Amare and we never really got to him after he made West foul 4 times early in the 3rd. Well, with the stats, Nash will get a 3rd MVP award. Just great. :(

Pathetic rebounding by Amare and the rest of the team.
Oh, well

No...the blame goes on the front line. No effort on the boards and too many 2nd chance points. Erase 10 of those unnecessary points and we win this game.

DC killing the Suns in the 4th quarter.

IF UCLA is going to suck this year at least I can enjoy the ex players doing well in the NBA.

Blame goes to Gentry for not recognizing the bad combination of relying on Frye on both sides of the court and give Collins more time to take out Okafor. Or have Amare on Okafor earlier. Or feed Amare to stabilize the offense more consistently. The offense dictated our offense when Nash dribbled the ball and channelled the shots to Frye and won the gamble while we went along.

This team needs to get out of the habit of playing poorly in the 1st 3 quarters and then having to comeback in the 4th quarter. :(

I especially hated to lose this game with Barkley bad mouthing the Suns as usual. I wish there was a way to take him out of the ring of honor. I'm beginning to think he is a curse to the Suns.

Even with the bad losses to Orlando and LA, this is EASILY the worst loss of the season, and probably the worst loss we've had since early last season.

This is a team we should not have lost to. There is NO excuse for the rebounding problem. Even a mediocre rebounding team like us shouldn't have had that big of a problem against such a small team.

Gentry tried to get the guys to buy into the idea that we actually needed rebounds, just nobody decided to do anything about it. Pathetic and embarassing.

We haven't played very well since the last time we played the Hornets, always having to come back and win the 4th quarter. Not tonight. Rebounding, which was supposed to be our biggest problem this season, wasn't an issue until tonight when it killed us. Amare had as many turnovers in this game as rebounds, finishing with 5 in 43 minutes. Frye did his part with 10 boards in only 28 minutes. Hill had 6 in 34. JRich could have grabbed a few more, finishing with 4. Dudley had 5 in 28 minutes. But it's not just the offensive rebounds we gave up. So many loose ball fouls.

Amundson is one of our best rebounders, so why did he play only 5 minutes tonight?

We took too many outside shots again, and missed too many. But Gentry keeps telling Frye to keep shooting, so that's how you get those 4-15 games, 1-7 from beyond the arc.

Exactly. NO channelled Nash, ya dictated the dribbling Nash to pass to an open Frye, by design. We obliged while ignoring Amare's advantage, to which we went back partially only late in the 4th. And Frye, despite 10 boards, wasn't doing the job on rebounding as he was the defender on Okafor all his time on court. That's the double costs of playing Frye so long.

Don't fret... They'll bounce back and might reel off a bunch of W's in a row over the next 4-5 games. They'll have to as, after the Knick game on 12/1st, the rest of December is BRUTAL!

Like I said, 55-60 wins this year. Maybe a post season series win, and then a typical Suns post season lost, coming as a result of their inability to defend and secure a key stop late in the 4th quarter...

No, it was the +12 off rebound differential that killed them.

Bad defense leads to off. rebounds! And if Nash had been paying attention like he was able to against Brooks, he wouldn't have left open the most costly 2 3pts that made it 104-98 with 2min to go.

He played Frye for too long and put a huge buren on him: We take what the defense gives us which is your nailing the 3, you gotta nail them. Often times, you have to force defense to take on the most feared offense, instead of their most preferred offense. Gentry take the blame fair and square.

Gentry takes some of the blame, like anybody else.

Our biggest problem wasn't Frye chucking up bad shots, our biggest trouble was REBOUNDING. And Gentry needs to tell his guys that they need to concentrate on that--which he DID. The players have to be held accountable for giving up so many rebounds. Blame the coach if you want, but he wasn't the one not boxing Okafor out.

But he was the one who could have put in Amundson or Collins for better defensive rebound and better defense on Okafor who was at times like the Dream down low. The cost of playing Frye too long is doubled. And it's kind of too cocky to insist on winning with "what the other team gives us".

The problem with Lou was that he couldn't do anything about West or Okafor, they were muscleing him out of the paint the whole time he was in. Same with Collins. Now, I don't disagree that we could have tried to keep him in longer and see if he'd eventually settle in, but the rebounds were killing us. Maybe Gentry thought that they didn't have the luxury of waiting until Lou settles into the game.

But to place the whole loss on Gentry is ridiculous. Every player had problems. What was with Barbosa? Talk about BAD decisions--Gentry had nothing to do with him getting an offensive foul while a wide open Goran Dragic is running right next to him.

One thing the team needs to do is get back to pushing the ball. Over the last 5 games (counting tonight's game) we're averaging only 8 fast break points per game. That's lower than the team that's 30th in fast break points, the Bobcats, are averaging for the season with 8.8 fast break points per game. :(

Last season we averaged 17.4 fast break points per game.

We're giving up 14.8 fast break points per game over the last 5 games (counting tonight's game). :(

I thought the schemes and matches were fine. The problem was that there were three Hornets to one Sun under the basket on misses, both on offense and defense. It seemed like the only rebounds we were getting were the ones that bounced out of reach of a Hornet.

As I stated earlier, we give up at least eight less 2nd chance points, we win the game. That, ladies and gentlemen, is the back breaker of the evening.

somehow our energy level was low in this game, maybe due to taking the Hornets for granted. Neither JRich on Brown nor Hill on Peja did good job. And when defense gets chaotic a bit, JRich, Amare went back to their old habit of standing aimlessly watching. Nash's early defense was OK but had the same lapses that cost us the game. Still, I hoped Gentry could recognize this and change the whole pace and thing a little better with substitutions. well.

Ehh...as a team, all should take some blame. That's just what bounced out at me and what the announcers were harping on. After two close call victories the last two games where we had to rally, probably somewhat of a wake up call here.
