I'm not going to overreact, since it is just one game. The same way that I haven't completely bought into the team after the first 12 games. I believe the Hornets were just having a solid shooting night behind the line, and the Suns couldn't match it. Yes, there were some problems on the boards, there were some 'homer' foul calls, and there was a lack of urgency at times... but that happens now and again.
If there was one point of the game that disturbed me, it was mid way through the third quarter. Amare had a chance for a 3-pt play to extend the lead to 9, he missed. The Hornets then made consecutive buckets, followed by a three point shot... 7 points, just like that. This 1-2 minutes of play bothered me more than the 4th quarter. The Suns were on a roll, they were about to put away an average team... but let it slip away. I can't recall perfectly, but it seems that the Suns had a turnover by Amare in the lane in this stretch and just poor shot selection. Sharks rip you apart when there is blood in the water... they quit scaring or intimidating you. The Suns need to learn to rip the throats out when a team exposes it. When they are in this position, every possession should be MUCH more important in their minds. Very few teams can come back against a double digit 4th quarter deficit. A team is tired, frustrated, and near conciliatory. The Suns had the Hornets just a few minutes from this situation, and they let them get up off the mat. The game was lost at that moment, IMO.
