Listening to Kevin Ray's rambling, I was motivated to send a message to Al McCoy in his capacity as Sr. VP of Broadcasting.

ATTN: Al McCoy: Sr. VP of Broadcasting:

As a long-time Suns fan, I enjoyed meeting you at Ray Lindstrom's memorial service for his daughter. This is about Kevin Ray. He does basketball play-by-play as though he were calling a football game.

Football is run a play / walk back / huddle / run another play. And the need to fill all that dead time with chatter. But basketball is back-and-forth action, except for free throws, as you know.

KRay's rambling on and on with half sentences until finally interrupted by EJ or Annie is not doing play-by-play. It appears that he pays no attention to what is happening on the court, just as Steve Albert. And then mentions what just happened. Timing in "the booth" is supposed to be the responsibility of the play-by-player caller.

When Tom Leander covers for Ray, it is a smooth broadcast. He is a lot better at it than his first time around. Al, please consider releasing Kevin Ray to call football and provide a professional TV play-by-play announcer. I am sure that you have input with Fox Sports Arizona.

Monty used up his challenge earlier so he can't challenge that out of bounds call.

End of 3rd quarter:

Suns 80 - Hornets 73

Jerome beats the buzzer on that little jumper.

Put Jerome in the game. Rubio can't hit a shot.

Hornets up by 4 points.

The way NBA refs go along with the momentum of a game is just pathetic. Yeah, the Suns are playing like crap and the Hornets are hot... and since that is happening the Suns can't look at someone without being called for a foul and the Hornets are allowed to play rugby.

Rugby is right and they are allowed to get away with it.

Tyler Johnson hasn't played at all. He wasn't on the injury report, was he? I'm fine with him sitting but I find it a little odd.

Rubio's shooting or lack thereof is hurting the Suns.

Every time I turn the game on, I see Marvin Williams score to give them the lead. I give up. I'll follow along on Yahoo.

I haven't heard anything about Tyler being injured.

see, this game highlights the biggest problem with Book as your #1 option on a true-blue title contender. He's a very very good scorer, but he's not a guy who's that superstar that can "stop the bleeding" by attacking the basket at will, getting to the line when his 3 isn't falling and putting the other team in a bad position in the penalty and just stop the bleeding no matter what.

again, he's a very very good player. But he's not a dominant force in any aspect of the game and that's what a #1 on a title winning team needs to be.

My thoughts as well.

Kellan Olson‏Verified account @KellanOlson

having a two-way big instead of an empty two-way spot would have been nice right about now.

3:23 PM - 2 Dec 2019

As much as these losses fall on Ayton, James Jones deserves some blame as well. There is no reason to keep an open Two-Way spot right now when this team is in desperate need of a big. Big Sauce is available, dammit! I know he's undersized but he can play PF/C in the NBA. He's done it before and he's young enough that he's worth looking at again. I'd say they can do worse but they are doing worse.
