I don't remember the Suns ever tanking (I assume by "tanking" you mean losing for the purpose of getting better odds in the lottery). There were times when they had bad teams, but I never remember them throwing in the towel on a season.
Few teams actually intentionally suck, but they just do. Call it bad luck or bad decision making, but either way they have terrible luck when it comes to their bad years coinciding with strong draft classes. Even in the case of Amare and Marion they got both of those guys with the 9th pick so there was certainly some luck involved there.

Also it should be noted, the Suns used to have very good history at drafting. Obviously this is not the case any more.

Specifically over the past 8 years or so. And it seems like every first round pick they traded away was used to get a good player by the team that got the pick. Rudy Fernandez, Luol Deng, Rajon Rondo, Sergio Rodriguez and even Gortat was a second round pick that was picked with what was originally a Suns pick. Rodriguez hasn't really been that good in the NBA, but the others are currently or have been very good in the NBA and Rondo is possibly the best PG in the league.

^ I suspect the reason Marshall and Wes Johnson don't play is because the Suns seem to lack any cohesive organization wide plan. Gentry can play them, because he knows that'll lead to losing. His contract hasn't been extended, so Gentry has to try to win as much as he can.

If Sarver were a good owner, or a smart person (he's not), he'd extend Alvin Gentry who's been a terrific Coach. That should be Job 1. Job 2 is telling Alvin "you're safe, play young guys, lets see what we have. And by the way, try Beasley at the 4, if he gets half a season at the 4 and still doesn't work, we made a mistake."

Then he ought to call up all contending teams and let them know, for Draft picks, any player on the Suns roster is available. There's no pieces currently here worth hoarding with the possible exception of Dragic.

The Suns shouldn't load up on too many picks in this years draft, as thats never a wise idea, especially in a weak draft. But they could potentially set themselves up for years to come with 2 picks in the first round for many years. Thus giving themselves a small bit of insurance against bad picks.

Agreed.

I'd be on the phone with Boston constantly if I were Blanks. They need another big next to KG to take some of the pressure and minutes on him, Gortat would be a perfect guy. They could also use another versatile guy off the bench, Dudley (BC guy to boot), would be a good fit as well.

A Dudley+Gortat+Zeller for Avery Bradley+Courtney Lee+Jared Sullinger+Fab Melo+Jason Collins deal works under the cap. Its robs Boston of a lot of their young talent, but if they want to try to get past the Heat right now, maybe thats worth it for them.

I like Bradley a lot, he's a good defender. Courtney Lee is what he is, but he's on a cheap contract. Collins is expiring, I doubt Fab Melo ever develops into anything, and Sullinger can at least be a decent role player.

You pretty much summarized that all you have got for Gortat and Dudley is Avery Bradley which is quite the opposite that you suggested a paragraph above.

Bradley may become an excellent defensive role player in a good team especially in an offensiv-minded one. He doesn't make too much sense for a young rebuilding team like the Suns (supposed to be).

I guess I'm the only person who'd like a deal for Rudy Gay?.

Goran Dragic, Rudy Gay, and Marcin Gortat - would be good *********. Hopefully that'd mean Gortat would stick around and the Suns have an abundance of cheap contracts to offset Gay's contract.

I'd try: Rudy Gay and Tony Wroten for Jared Dudley, Michael Beasley, Sebastian Telfair, and Draft Pick(s) - though I'd prefer to only send 1 First Rounder but adding Telfair in deal means the Suns would have 3 Rookie backup PG's which may equalize improvement by having inexperienced PG's. Telfair may or may not want back regardless (in FA) and the Suns could groom the Rooks for rest of the year...

Nicolas Batum, DeMar DeRozan, O.J Mayo, Andre Iguodala, Tyreke Evans, Arron Afflalo, Eric Gordon, Evan Turner, Gerald Wallace, Joe Johnson, Rodney Stuckey, etc. are really the only other SG-SF I could possibly see available.

Gortat
Scola
Gay
Draft Pick (Suns could have 2 Lottery Picks with McLemore, Goodwin, Muhammad, or Porter possibilities)
Dragic

Tucker, Morris, Frye, Wroten, Marshall, Garrett, Zeller.

I'd love to add Gay if the price was right but I think your price is WAY too high. He's overpaid and they need to shed salary, he should come at a huge discount. Something like Beasley, Frye, Dudley and maybe swap the Minny pick for a 2nd rounder.
