I swear one day I will lose it if I keep hearing people bitch about "two PG lineup" non-sense.

We play with two guards, like every other NBA team. There is almost nothing different or special about our setup at all.
It is not a two Point Guard lineup. It is a two tweener Guard lineup.

Would you say that either is an NBA calibre Point Guard, with the skills to quarterback the Suns to the next step? Not with their turnovers or lack of on-court leadership skill.

Would you say that either is a standout Shooting Guard? They are not.

They are both . . . jack of all trades -- master of none.

That is not like every other NBA team.

If you believe it, no harm, no foul. The problem is that Sarver, McDonough and Hornacek evidently believe it. Or can't move on because they've put their reputations on the line with it.

It is like the old saying that one lie begets another. In their case, no matter how many combinations they've tried, it has produced mediocrity. And they've gone too far to turn back.

Goodwin has a great game early in the season. Paul Coro writes about how Goodwin has made the most of this opportunity and will be rewarded more chances and playing time. The result is that Goodwin does not play the next 2 games when

I remember that stretch, Goodwin was quoted in saying how effective he was with Bled. Then Price comes back and takes his mins even though he was playing well and we were winning. I think McD signed Price as the 13th man insurance. Can't see him happy with Hornacek burying his rookie project in favor of Price.

I really want to support Hornacek but he didn't handle the Marcus Morris yelling situation like a championship coach.

Here's actually a great unbiased article on why the backcourt IS indeed the problem

We have 2 incomplete point guards. One can drive and defend but can't pass or shoot. The other can only shoot.

:(

Can we bring back Steve with some TRT and HGH?

No, no its not.

You can't argue with those facts and the actual game film that's provided in that article.

Despite the headline, the writer didn't really say that. Here's a quote from the article: when the team fails they’re part of the reason why. And he's right, especially of late. Although using the Utah game to prove a point is weak IMO. For whatever reason, that was Bledsoe at his absolute worst. He was in a daze and moved like he was loaded down with bricks all game long.

I'm hoping that much of this is due to Knight's re-injury of his ankle about 3 weeks ago but if it isn't, we're going to struggle until Booker is ready to take over that spot. When 60% of your starters are uninvolved in the offense the remaining 40% need to be spectacular. When we were hovering around .500 our 2 combo guards had a combined PER of close to 46. Now it's down to 39 and our record reflects that decline.

7 points, that's a steep drop in such a short time. It means they've been playing at just above replacement level during this stretch and this team isn't going to win if they aren't playing well above that mark. But it doesn't change the fact that our starting frontcourt is our biggest problem.

Other than the Utah game, I don't know that Eric's defense has changed much. He's a great on the ball defender but he's an inconsistent defender when he's off the ball. I think it's worse now (this season and last) that he's playing 35 minutes a game. I'm guessing that he's trying to pace himself to handle those minutes but I guess it's equally possible the other teams have learned to take advantage of his mental lapses. Knight's defense was't great but it was decent until his re-injury, it's been very weak since then.

As for Chandler, maybe we can blame his lack of offense on the guards. What about his defense? Are the guards the reason he's not getting it done as a defender? Len, as a starter, has looked much better than Chandler at both ends of the court.
