The Suns decided to keep Cory Jefferson but waived Henry Sims. I wanted the Suns to keep both players but if I had to choose, I would have kept Jefferson as well. I think he has more upside.

Jefferson, 24, is a 6-foot-9, 218-pound power forward who played 50 games last season as a rookie with Brooklyn, having his best game against the Suns with 12 points and 13 rebounds in 16 minutes. The former Baylor star, the last pick of the 2014 draft, is stronger than last season and has shown athleticism, improving shooting touch, weak-side shot-blocking and rebounding. He is the roster's fourth power forward with Markieff Morris, Jon Leuer and his former Nets teammate, Mirza Teletovic.

I can see the Suns perhaps wanting to add another player to their roster at some point in time to bring it to 15. Actually I thought the Suns might want to bring in another PG with Ronnie Price returning from being out with mono.

Edit: title should read Cory Jefferson.

The quote above was taken from a Paul Coro article at azcentral date 10-24-15.

They had a PG on the summer league roster who did quite well... forget his name. He was aggressive going to the bucket... maybe he reminded them too much of Isaiah Thomas...

I think perhaps you are thinking of Mike James. He was lightning quick but more of a scorer than a PG as I recall. He was impressive in summer league. Also I'm wondering if Ish Smith is still available.

I think Ish is available. In the player list he's said to be with the Wiz but they don't have him on their roster. I'd be happy to have him back but who'd I really like to have back is Tyler Ennis. Milwaukee seemed intent on getting him in the Knight deal but he got very skimpy minutes with them so they might let him go if they're intent on getting someone else. I was quite impressed with the way he stepped right in with the Jam and gave them the appearance of an organized team.

IMO, Ennis lacks the speed and athleticism I would like in a PG. I think the Suns missed with this pick. However, he is young and players have gotten by with less. Also he is only 21. I guess when I first saw him play for the Suns I had flashbacks to Kendall Marshall. This sort of clouds by judgement. So maybe you are right, the second time might be the charm.

In regard to Ish Smith, he isn't really a PG. I just have fond memories of how he pushed the ball with the Suns.

I don't think we need any more guards, I'd rather take a gamble on a big man. I know he's been a disappointment but I wouldn't mind singing Perry Jones. It's probably a waste but he might pay off down the road. And if not him then maybe our old standby Earl Barron. j/k

Maybe on Perry Jones. However, please no to Earl Barron. The Suns have been there and done that. I want players to develop. Barron is age 34.

I hope the Suns don't go through the season with only two Centers, considering Len's foot problems.

Especially with them choosing Power Forwards on the basis of them being stretch Forwards.

Dalembert anyone?

This is interesting. The Mavericks who need centers waive Dalembert who had a guaranteed vet minimum contract. This has to raise some questions.

The Suns would probably have been better off keeping Sims over Dalembert given the two options.

Leuer can probably play some center for the Suns if needed as the Suns have four PFs: Markieff Morris, Jon Leuer, Mirza Teletovic and Cory Jefferson. I must admit I wanted the Suns to keep Sims. Maybe the Suns have their eye on another player although it may not be a big man. I'm surprised Ronnie Price is coming back so quickly from mono.

I wouldn't go after a guard no matter who was available. We have too many people in the rotation at the 1 - 3. If we were going to add a 15th player or bring someone in to play for the Jam we should focus on young bigs with up-side or mature veterans that can bang and defend the rim. Like I said, I'd grab Perry Jones if he's interested. I also wouldn't mind going after someone like Jordan Bachynski or Alex Stephenson.

I saw Jordan Bachynski play for ASU but I have not seen much of Alex Stephenson. I believe Stephenson played for the Dallas summer league team. I think back in the day Bachynski would make an NBA roster based upon his size. He also is fairly mobile. This shows how much the NBA has changed. Perry Jones might be worth a look though.

IMO, the Suns weakest areas (based on depth) is center and PG. If for some reason a PG cannot play for the Suns, it really hurts their rotation.

I don't really see us as weak in depth at the PG position. We have 3 of them and the quality of PG that's available today is pretty much what we'll be available if we lose Bledsoe or Knight for a sustained period. Two centers and <1 traditional power forwards concerns me far more.

I don't watch much college basketball other than UA but that's where I know both Jordan and Alex from. Stephenson has been around longer but he played 2 or 3 seasons at USC and looked like a pretty good defensive big man.

Back when I had the "kissing disease" in college (that was 55 years ago), six weeks of rest at home (once diagnosed and with blood tests every two weeks) was all it to took to be back to 100%.

I had broken up with a girl I was dating and was surprised when she called to say, "I think you should see a doctor." And my jaw dropped, until she continued, "I have mono."

The doctor dragged his feet for weeks, through my finals. I couldn't sleep at night and couldn't stay awake during the day. Finallyl I said, "I have mono, damnit!" Which the blood test proved.

It seems people recover more quickly from mono than back in those days. Ronnie Price last played in a game on October 13th. Although Price may take awhile to get his strength back, two weeks is a quick return to work.

First two things Cory Jefferson did after being told he would remain on @Suns roster: 1) call his mom 2) hit the weight room #WeArePHX
