Cam Payne is the leading scorer for Suns with 24 points. Also he had 4 rebounds and 3 assists.

I just don't understand how they can play a perfect quarter and then almost throw it all away in the next one. There was a lot that I liked in this game, but the fourth quarter was just terrible.

I think Monty brought the starters back to late. It's hard to put out a fire once it gets started. The Suns couldn't get an easy basket down the stretch. These are games where Ayton is so valuable.

They matched our 3rd period...it's a wash. Still trying to get our crap together with a few new pieces...still 5 in a row no matter how you slice and dice it

Cam Johnson has to score more than 2 points. The Suns need him off the bench.

What in the world is going on with him?

His shooting is not pure and he is not playing with a lot of confidence.

I've always felt he should be backing up Bridges at small forward. I'd like to think that would help.

The Suns were so active with their hands in the 3rd quarter with 11 deflections.

IMO playing with Payton really hurt his flow of the game to start the season.

I don't see it. Payton gets blamed for a lot of things I don't think he deserves.

I can't say the same when Nader is on the court.

The 4th quarter tonight aside, I think we're seeing how much better the bench is with Payne over Payton.

Next time we are unfortunate enough to watch Payton play, watch how often he picks up his dribble with no plan. I think it is his defining move. He puts his teammates in some really bad spots.

There is no question the Suns are a much better team with Cam Payne as the backup point guard.

I'd ask you to watch some of the good plays Payton makes as well.

When Payton gets the ball deep into the paint he is capable of doing some good, but those moments are few and far between. As an outside shooter he is about as bad as a guard can be. IMO, his biggest problem is that when the ball isn't in his hands he does nothing, a habit that also shows itself with how often he gets caught watching on the defensive end.

One worry I had about this season is that Cam Payne would fall back down to earth.
Great game from him most of the night. Good to see.
Seems it’s the other cam falling back to earth. Johnson is a shadow of his former self this year.
