Did you actually watch him in the 4th quarter? He played cool and collected like he does the majority of the time he's out on the floor. He wasn't rattled, and I don't think I've ever seen him shrink in the moment. He may not always deliver but he doesn't back down either. The only time he's not cool and collected is when he's chirping at refs and he's really scaled back on that this year.

He shot 6-9 in the 4th and missed a FT but he made the next one so the opposing team couldn't take the lead with a regular field goal. If he bricked both, fine, give him hell, but you're complaining about him not winning the game in the manner that you would have preferred but he still won the game for us with his second FT and all of other points he put on the board in the 4th.
I watched the whole game. At a time when you just have to hit your FTs to win a game he didn’t. And he’s a 90% FT shooter. It is what it is. I used to think he was clutch. I don’t any longer.

The guy visibly drags his team down pretty much every time he is on the floor. Are you his cousin or something?

Lol you're calling someone out for being blindly opinionated about a player? I can easily see someone asking you if Cam Johnson ran over your dog.

He only ended up being a total waste of a draft pick we needed to use to acquire a starter...

While I wish we would've taken Clarke, hashtag basketball has Cam ranked number 9 amongst rookies so far this season, outperforming his draft slot, and ahead of guys like Hunter, Barrett, White, Culver, and Garland. To say he's a total waste of a draft pick seems a little biased.

You looked through statistics? You went to see how many FTs he missed in closing minutes? Send me the link to those stats, I’m curious to see them. I’m just relying on having watched every game this year. I don’t expect a 90% FT shooter who is the leader of the team to miss those at clutch time. And I’ve witnessed more than a few. But show me those stats please.
You're the one making the claim so please feel free to back it up. From everything I can see the only missed free throw late in a close game this year was the one tonight. So if you can point to other please feel free, but I am not seeing them.

Edit: So I found the clutch stats area on NBA.com. Based on the parameters of games that were within 5 points in the last two minutes, Booker took 14 free throws and made 12. Therefor it is a total of 2 that were missed this season and it could be more or less depending where exactly you want to set the parameters.

I think the Kings fans should be upset with free throws. I liked how the Suns fouled instead of giving up lay ups

Except that link reveals three power forwards ahead of him, plus Tyler Herro, all of whom the Suns could have taken instead. Plus his only positive statistics there are three pointers made and turnovers.

Oubre's 16 rebounds were a career high.

And Oubre was listed on the injury report the last two games with a groin injury. This may have effected his game with the Warriors but he played like himself last night.

Nice to finally break through on a close one.

Again really shouldn't have been. Will be nice to see them play looser ( without turnovers) on the offensive end, they're really pressing at the end of games mostly, especially against press and switch D's.
But their tenacity on the D end is coming around some. Monty is trying to give the starters quick blows and get them out there again, along with Bridges to close out, who was very active & disruptive.

I agree with you that he was the wrong pick. I disagree with you that he is a waste of a pick.

A waste because the Suns needed far more than a 23 year old whose ceiling is a Kyle Korver type role player off the bench.

Cam would have been perfect at pick #30 or thereabouts for a championship contender who already had all major pieces in place and could use the luxury of a sharpshooter specialist off the bench.

A team that still needs a starting power forward and at least two major contributors off the bench cannot afford to be drafting the likes of Cam Johnson in the lottery.

Kyle Korver at the end of the first round? Fine. Kyle Korver for a rebuilding team in the lottery trying to overcome a decade of futility? Beyond foolish.

Just my opinion.

This again? You don't have to post about the same thing multiple times in each game thread. I don't want to use the ignore function because I might miss some good discussions...

Do it. You’re not missing out on anything.

I don't think anyone was thrilled with Cam at #11, in fact, I am pretty sure a huge portion of the board was all about Clarke, including myself. So... you're not exactly breaking new ground here.

Now, recognizing that Cam was a reach does not prevent one from acknowledging his skills... he is a legit rotation player already and rather low on our list of problems. And your ceaseless bitching about him will not magically reverse the course of history. Your beating of a dead horse and endless exaggerations are pointless, especially when your exaggerations so often make you look like a clown.
