Bledsoe can get the rim at will. I just hate it whens he's passive, he ends up making lazy passes, or stops his dribble to early, or gets himself caught in the air with no where to go. You guys notice he does that one-legged jump, gets caught up in the air, and throws a lazy/bad pass. Other than that the guy is dangerous in the open court and attacking the rim.

Oh how I hate this. Nash used to jump a lot seemingly with nowhere to go but more often than not is usually able to create something. My rose colored lenses thinks he did this on purpose to create the angle he's looking for but I could totally be wrong.

Bledsoe, on the other hand, looks to me like many times he drives and jumps trying to get a shot, realizes he's got 3 defenders around him, then tries to find a teammate at the last second. I'd venture to guess near half of his turnovers are caused by this.

Also on the subject of Green, he had at least a couple instances where he was wide open and didn't get the ball. IIRC, both Dragic and Bledsoe looked him off (not clear if it was intentional or not). That's gotta be frustrating for a player who was knocking them down with regularity just a few games earlier. Hopefully he can stay motivated and embrace that gunner off the bench role.

I was reading the Lakers game thread on Realgm and they were oohing and aahing over Bledsoe. They used words like "magic" in describing him (not with a capital M). I think Bledsoe is going to get much better. The lazy passes and stopping the dribble etc are mostly maturity and experience issues. Its not like he is a knucklehead like Beasley. Once Bledsoe gets a year or so of starters minutes those things are really going to click.

Bledsoe is a MUCH better player than Goran was at this stage. We have to keep him.

Also there is time for Goran to turn into an athletic version of Steve Nash. I'm not being totally sarcastic either. Goran seems to be incorporating more and more of Nash's game into his own, like driving the ball along the baseline underneath the basket, keeping the dribble alive and then circling back to make a basket or pass the ball. I think Goran is starting to peak as his stats suggest. Of course no one can pass like Steve Nash.

Nice win last night. This team continues to improve in crunch time. Every time the Lakers made a move, the Suns countered. Always fun to win in LA.

Green and tucker were really ticked off when they picked up fouls on Kobe. I would be too. But last night Dragic had it going and looked off green a couple of times. A win is a win and I hope green recognizes that and plays within his realm.

Also I don't think Goodwin realizes how good and dangerous he is. There was one play we he had the ball and all he had to do was try and finish, instead he throws a bad pass to the corner where it was easily intercepted. With more minutes I hope he realizes he's nba material. I think with him just being so young that he doubts himself and his abilities. I see him as a player with unlimited upside. He has the length, quickness, agility, athletics, and handles to be a great 2 guard. Kind of reminds me of Kobe a bit.

Bad turnovers, missed layups, and defensive breakdowns made it closer than it should have been but good effort again. It is always good to get a win in LA.

Totally agree. I was also thinking of the Kobe comparison on that one play where he swooped to the hoop for that lay in. Once this kid gets some confidence and experience, watch out!

Goran Dragic plus minus +77

Eric Bledsoe plus minus -27

You fail to account for Dragic background playing in Europe against inferior competition and minutes played. Try to at least consider this. Context is important.

You're also failing to account for Bledsoe's future salary. Is he attractive at 14 mill per year? I have my doubts.

Is that this year's +/- for Dragic? Because his statement was comparing this year's Bledsoe to Dragic of like 3-4 years ago.

Although this may be true, I don't think this is what the Suns want. IMO, the Suns want to build the team with younger players. Okafor would only be a stopgap. He will be 32 next September. Also I believe if he were able to play come January and February, the Suns would prefer to use him to acquire more assets.

I think H&M might be glad to have Okafor for the rest of the year to give the guys the experience of playing in the playoffs... and its always good to know which guys step up in the postseason and who fades. You really don't know what you've got in just regular season play. Okafor's contract runs out next summer and they may well decide they'd like him around longer - if the cost is reasonable. Len is going to take two or three years to learn the game, assuming he can get his ankles healthy, and Emeka would keep him from too much pressure.

I must say it took me a moment to figure out H&M. :)

I understand your logic but I'm thinking the Suns want to go a different direction if he has has any trade value at the trading deadline. If the Suns really thought they could keep Okafor at a reasonable salary beyond this season I might feel differently... maybe. However, I think Okafor (if healthy) will command more salary than the Suns would want to pay when he becomes a FA. Also (IMO), the worst part of it, I'm not enthused about him helping the Suns to rack up more wins this season pushing them further down in the draft.

You're probably right and I wouldn't have any complaints about it... mainly I'd just like to see how well the team could do with a strong force in the middle. Add another half dozen fastbreaks a game and we could get other teams really back on their heels.
