That is an insane comment. Shamet is a non-factor on a great team that gives him wide open looks.

Gordon is a better shooter and creator by a mile.
He's also 3 times a worse defender if you look at his defensive box+- for his whole career.

May not be a big deal on the Rockets, but that is pretty important on the suns.

I think Gordon would allow us to rest both CP3 and Booker a little more so he'd get Shamet's minutes plus some.
They are already only playing 32 minutes a game. That is low for starters already. I don't really think that is an issue.

Only reason you acquire him is to give us more punch off the bench, which he might do offensively, but he actually has a negative Box+- his defense is so bad.

I'd rather have Jevon Carter back.
I'd trade Shamet for Jevon straight up ill even give them a second round pick.

There I said it.

Fight me.

We’re going to have to spend to be legit contenders. This is where Sarver has to put up or shut up
Spending like that is sometimes what ties your hands and keeps a team from being contenders.

Not me. I really liked Carter.
I liked him too but he was virtually unplayable against guys that were only a few inches taller than him. If he was just a bit taller, he'd be much more versatile. As it is, he couldn't play against anybody but the smallest of point guards and his shot was unreliable at best. Let alone the fact that he couldn't run a team. He literally cannot play the same role that Shamet is playing.

Would I prefer Javon over Payton? Absolutely.

Nah, I almost agree with that. Carter at least sometimes could start a spark with his defense.

But you have to keep in mind, Shamet is not playing as well as he normally does. I think at some point he will look better.

Really? Why? Gordon isn't that much of an upgrade over shamet.

Personally if it is multiple #1's I would be pissed.

Actually looking at Gordons stats this year, he is shooting great from 3, but his defense is plain bad - as in he is a liability bad.

Hold on dude is under contract for 2 more years at 19 and 20 million. How the hell is that going to work if we want to resign Cam and Ayton.

No, this is a bad idea.
His numbers are really pretty good this year.
15pts
51% shooting
46% 3%
3.3 assists
And he’s capable of creating his own shot.
He’s a good deal better than shamet. Worth the casheesh? Maybe not. Makes the team much tougher to beat? Most likely.

At what point? He’s on a team where he gets good looks and we are more than halfway through the season. That’s quite a “slump.”

I really hope so. He IS better than we've seen so far. But at least you knew what you were getting with Carter. 100% ALL THE TIME
No BS no I'm tired. Just 100% Jevon a bulldog on D no matter how tall his opponent was. I'm all in on effort. That's what you got with Jevon.

And our legitimate window is probably only open this and next season. They have to strike while the iron is hot and right now, it’s en fuego.

It won’t be forever.

Also, anyone defending Shamet needs to realize how much he lost playing time over the course of last year on another team that would get him WIDE OPEN shots and eventually he became near unplayable in the playoffs.

When your slump starts moving towards two seasons, that ain’t a slump anymore. That's just who Shamet is at this point in his career.

I like Shamet but Ouchie's right he's not turning the corner for some reason. My god he per is 10. Justin Jackson still with the team?

But we’re spending on youth
Booker
Ayton
Bridges
Cam Johnson

Are all under 25

Two expensive veterans
Paul
Gordon

When Paul and Gordon are off the books our young guys should be entering there primes

Gordon is at 46% from 3 him and Cam Johnson off the bench would be insane

We have to find a way to extend that window.

I think we blew that opportunity when we passed on Halliburton, but to be honest, after wandering in the desert for a decade, I’m not going to dwell on that for these next two years, which have been and should be extremely entertaining, if nothing else.

CP3’s just got HUGE shoes for anyone else to fill. Now, we won’t need someone of that level if Book/Ayton/Cam make major strides, but we’ll still need a solid captain at PG to steer a championship level ship and He’s one of the greatest of all time. I’m cherishing every minute I get to watch.

As opposed to the 500 I dropped on that Cards humiliation on Monday night where I probably also got Covid for all I know. Worst money I’ve spent and will spend this year, no doubt.

If you're interested in even worse ways to spend money, I could give you some stock advice.

Yup. I hate that he’s 33. But he brings a lot of what we need. Dude who can create his own shot, not a black hole, and can light it up from 3.

This board has a real tendency to forget how old Johnson already is. He turns 26 in a month and a half.

All of those players are going to turn 26 on their next birthday except Ayton.

uggh, I missed the game. but dallas have been playing well of late and beat some good teams along the way. Earlier in the season they had been really struggling closing out games and I still think that is a problem for them. hopefully they continue to build and can keep KP and Doncic on the court together. Suns are looking great!

Always great to read your comments. Dallas has been playing very well indeed.

If the Suns defense hadn't created and scored off turnovers it might have been a different story. Suns shot 8-36 from 3-point range.
