The Suns should not trade any of the starting 5. They use small ball against the best big men in the league and destroyed them.

I might even be willing to keep Casey as well unless we can us the Bulls pick to draft a replacement. I still would even want to bring Bo back.

Yeah, but I want Josh Boone. Hunter and Boone in the middle would with Stoudemire up front would have us killing teams and increase or depth a ton. Plus we could get rid of that scrub Voskul.

Jake being moved would help this team alot. I do like him as player but he just doesn't fit into the team anymore, but if Hunter walks we can't afford to loose him, I still think Lampe is another year away.

The team is so young that now it does not need to make any trades if it can keep those top six players. All they have to do is add replacement parts through the draft. It looks like they will get Chicago's pick and GS second round pick this summer (which should be a high second rounder). Those two drafting positions will one talent and possibly one good prospect.

-Barbosa could move to the two if CJ is lost and a point guard is added.
-Vroman's contract could be left to expire if the early second rounder is a better fit down low.

They are in a good position because they have players that play multiple positions because that is what the offense requires. If they add players through the draft, they should be of the same flexibility.

The Suns have been amazingly healthy this season, so the deep bench guys have not played much. They have looked pretty good in garbage time, but that doesn't tell us much. Overall I suspect the Suns will try to keep most of this team together, but it is hard to tell with their backup players.

HUNTER - Hunter likes it in Phoenix and has really benefited from the Suns tutoring. I look for him to get a two year type deal for maybe $2 each.

I'm not sure the Suns would be able to sign him after that because he could be really valuable by then. At the same time, the Suns are going to benefit from how disappointing the mid level big men that were signed this off season have been. Foyle is a bench player, Etan Thomas has not done much even when healthy, Skinner hasn't done much, Ostertag hasn't done much, Mark Blount's productivity is down, etc. This may depress the price of guys who have had only one good season.

JACOBSEN - He is an unrestricted free agent. He's been playing well lately, but it is hard to see him getting a big contract. He comes back if the price is right, otherwise the Suns need to be looking for another wing.

OUTLAW - Bo has looked good when he has played. He even hit a jump shot, which got the bench all excited. I think his return will be all about the money. If he returns for the veteran minimum, the Suns will keep him. Otherwise, his weak offensive skills make him potentially expendible.

VOSKUHL - Jake has another year on his contract. He actually showed a nice mid range jumper in the Pacer's game and has seemed more active following his return from surgery. It looks like he is returning to previous "high energy" style and is probably one of the best third string centers in the NBA.

VROMAN - Vroman has a minumum contract. He has shown some promise, but not enough to ensure he will be back if the Suns draft a big man with the Chicago pick.

LAMPE - He has one more year on his contract. Lampe has seemed to be more agressive and more of a team player than in the past. I expect to see him get more minutes as the season goes on, but he is not yet in the kind of condition he needs to be to play Suns basketball. I think that next season he will be a lot lighter and quicker.

BARBOSA - Leandro has one more year, then a team option year, and then an RFA yeas, so he is going to with the team for a while. This season he has been inconsistent, but has shown flashes of being able to be a PG as well as score. Unfortunately for him, his play is not quite at the level of JJ and the Suns are trying to win every game.

If I were Hunter, I will choose to stay in PHX no matter what the offer is. He may not get too much offer from PHX but this is probably the only team he has a chance to shine.

After shining here for a few years, then he may choose to leave if other teams offer more.

It will be quite stupid to leave after this season especially after we won the championship!!!!! muhahahahaahah. Sorry, I am high.

Casey might be made expendable but I think the most intriguing thing would be if Vroman develops enough in practice to make Bo expendable. I like Bo alot for his character and his game but Vroman could be less of a liability offensively while providing the same energy. Barbosa has great potential and is serviceable now. Voskuhl could be traded to no ill effect sadly (I really like hustle players). We shouldn't skip the draft again, but it'd be cool to know we could carry a player on the bench and not get hurt by it. The kind of depth Portland had at PF for so many years would be nice. I like Turiaf by the way. I get to see Gonzaga games occasionally and besides being a little foul prone he shows a lot of offensive talent plus a good ammount of drive. He should be available even if the Bulls do really well.

Nash Vujanic
JJ Q Barbosa
Marion Skita
Amare Vroman Turiaf
Hunter Lampe

If Lampe is fast enough to keep from getting traded I think that'd be a great roster.

Positives: Brute physical force meets finesse touch around the basket. Has a few nice moves in the post including an excellent turnaround jumper. Good fundamentally sound player in the post. Possesses good footwork and positioning on the low block. Good rebounder and shot blocker. Overall solid player with very minimal faults.

Negatives: Although Turiaf does everything pretty well for his size, he does not do anything spectacular. No facet of his game will really blow you away. Not that athletic or explosive. Very very foul prone. Only averages 27 minutes per game because he is constantly in foul trouble.

Realistic NBA potential
13 Ppg, 6 Rpg, 1.0 Apg, 1.0 Bpg

If the Suns sign both JJ and Hunter and the salary cap remains in place, I suspect they will trade the Chicago pick (probably for a future first round pick and/or future considerations) and cut costs on the backend of the bench (i.e. not re-sign Casey or Outlaw). I can see Barbosa taking more of a 2-man role next year and the 11th and 12th spot being filled out by second rounders and/or unsigned rookies and journeymen.

It looks like we will get that Cleveland pick finally, unless King James goes down.

Having seen Turiaf a fair amount here in the WCC, I really don't think he is anything special. I think he'll have a much tougher time scoring on NBA bigs and I have reservations about his athleticism. He's an especially poor fit on the Suns, IMO.

I think we gave that pick to the Charlotte Bobcats so they'd take Jahidi White in the expansion draft.
