It is? Show me where the league issued a ruling stating that laughing at a Ref is only a "T" if a player is on the floor versus the bench. So until I see such a thing....it is the same. Unless I should believe so because you say so.

Come on Steel. All i am trying to say is that in bells instance it was on the floor in regards to a foul against him. A terrible foul mind you, but he reacted immaturely and got tossed for upstaging the ref... not laughing per se. All players know when they are teetering on the line.... he knew it... and pushed. I've yet to see a ref lose in that situation....regardless of team or player.

I doubt you will see the ref in this case repremanded or suspended.

BS the refs were laugh and cursed at all night by the Nuggets how many of them got tossed? And Raja's was rescended by the league and they said it was wrong, so why can't that be a replay from that point on?

The method in which the Ref was upstaged was the laughing. It was the same scenario when Tim did it. The Ref felt Tim was upstaging him by not taking the call he made seriously. There is no difference.

The Ref that got suspended definitely lost. These Refs are reprimanded and fined all the time for bad calls or calling unnecessary "T"'s. It's just usually you don't hear about it because it's not public.

I will bet odds that at the very least he gets a fine for making that call.

Well I hope you have an inside source because fines and grades are not made public by the NBA. 99% of the disciplinary action taken on NBA refs never hears the light of day. The only reason the Tim Duncan one made it to light is because that same Ref had been fined before and had a history of being reprimanded by the NBA. They "leaked" that one.

I personally think there is a big difference with a guy on the court that you called the foul on as opposed to someone sitting on the bench. Just my take.

a little humor along those lines. I forget the players, but i read it in i think joe garigolas book. A visiting player slides in to third base clearly under the tag. The ump mistakinly throws up the out thumb kind of like when a basketball ref calls wrong way on a out of bounds. So they argue. THe player says... i was safe and you know it. The ump replys, yes, your right, i made the wrong gesture, but 40,000 people now think your out.... so your out!!! *grin*

you dont give your team much credit i guess.

but good to see you guys are not sore losers.

So if the flagrant assessed to martin(post game) had resulted in his ejection, a turnover in possession and the nuggests lost, would you even be here at all trolling?

come on steel, even though stu jackson said the ejection was wrong, cant you agree (with this laker fan) who showed up next day trolling that it was right? Even a troll has to realize that when the NBA admits a mistake, it was clearly a mistake.

I have yet to see where Jackson admitted it but admit i havent really searched it out. Can someone post a direct quote cause i would love to see it? Now is this the same Jackson you have vilified so much over the last year as being an idiot? Just wondering.

Gambo and Ash reported it. It wasn’t a public statement, but G&A insist that they “Got it from a good source.”

Kenyon Martin suspended for hitting Boris

http://www.nba.com/news/kmartin_080403.html
NEW YORK, April 3, 2008 – Denver Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin has received a one game suspension without pay for exceeding the Flagrant Foul points total, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations. Martin was assessed a Flagrant Foul, Penalty One for striking Boris Diaw of the Phoenix Suns in the face. If a player’s season total exceeds five points, he will receive an automatic suspension following the game in which his point total exceeds five points and for each additional flagrant foul committed during that season.
The incident occurred with 3:52 remaining in the third period of Denver’s 126-120 win over the Suns on Tuesday, April 2 at the Pepsi Center. Martin will serve the suspension on Saturday, April 5 when the Nuggets host the Sacramento Kings at the Pepsi Center.

I heard ESPN radio host say it was unusual for the information to leak out out based on the NBA's strict policy on keeping fines, grades and suspension NON-Public. He speculated it was because the Ref had a long history of fines etc.. They wanted to make an example of him.

So I would say no the NBA doesn't like to admit it made mistakes. It would rather keep them hush hush and move on. Give me a break, look at Stern's history lately. Look at his "response" when he held the press conference about going back to the old NBA ball. He basically said everything but "we made a mistake".

Let me guess: The Lakers benefitted from that mistake, went on to win a close game, and then taunted other fans for years about how "the best team always wins."

So true top character arent you? I post a humorous comment and you turn it in to a personal attack.

Besides.... you told me several times this week you put me on ignore. So why don't you do what you have already claimed you have... and just go away!

Now i really hate to indulge you and point out the obvious. In your rush to yet again BUTT in and get personal, you might want to realize the humorous comment was about baseball and the Lakers play basketball. Talk about trollish! You are so eager to blast someone you dont even realize you have no clue what your even talking about. Pathetic!

It's persoanal because this guy follows me around, throws out his useless comments, tells me im on ignore yet keeps comming back etc etc..... I have read lots of posts by him and whenever he cannot back his position with any logical commentary, it ALWAYS gets to the name calling and troll accusations. Give it a rest already. Put me on ignore, and move on. Im certainly ok with that! Or cant he actually do what he says he does?

and again, i point out that it was a humerous comment about baseball.... yet his bias didnt even allow him to realize that. Go figure.

Uh, if by "several" you mean "zero," yeah. I guess you still can't keep track of who's who, which isn't a big surprise since you don't read. (And yes, that was a personal attack.)

There is this concept called a "joke" that you may not be familiar with.

It's official. Steve Kerr just confirmed on the radio that the "T" against Raja Bell was rescinded. He will not be fined and will not count against his "T" count.

Sorry Cobler, I guess this confirms that there was no difference between how the NBA views the "T" against Duncan and the "T" against Raja.

I should have taken that bet on the beer.

Finally, the NBA has opened their eyes and realized that these refs are unfairly punishing the Suns for no apparent reason. Of course I say that until we start getting screwed on calls again
