If we play D like this game and improving on it, we compete with any team. Among starters + GA and EG, Booker is the weakest link on both individual and team D, while Beal and KD the most capable ones. Their initial conception of unlimited switching can work if and only if everybody does the right thing, particularly in double teaming situations. Young proves now to be a great addition there, strong enough to not back down from any big also quick and smart enough to cover spaces after switch, which Nurk and Drew have difficulty doing. And he is also an excellent rebounder, it was beauty how he ripped away the rebound A.Gordon almost in the hands already, high in the air; AG abused our front court in last year's PO series. Eubanks is a mechanical player who is often out of position after scrambles, and Bol just lacks experience at D.

All in all, if Vogel could stick to his reputation of a defense first coach and consistently sit players with insufficient D, if we keep our careless TOs down, there is still hope, as our offensive potential is always there.

I think this is one of our biggest issues. The careless turnovers aren’t a bug of this team, they’re a feature. It’s so consistent and so prevalent that it’s not just a matter of turning it off. This is who this team is.

The defense, I agree with. Because that seems, at least to a large extent, a lot about effort. It does seem like they turn that on and off.
