Ask yourself who would leak the Myers rumor? Not the Suns. Anyone we hire that isn't Meyers would be a real let down to fans. So logically it would be the Meyers camp leaking. Why would Meyers let his camp leak this if he had zero interest? Suns would tell Gambo no interest if they really did tell Gambo that, because they would look real bad if Meyers turns them down. People would interpret that as we are too messed up to be fixed, if Meyers passed. You don't want fans thinking that.

So far Meyers himself hasn't said he isn't interested.

You might be overthinking this. People make things up. This could have come from anywhere, I don't think logic is going to reveal what really happened.

Yes hard for Booker to lead when he's shooting at a 43 percent clip. 32 percent from three and can't handle a double team. 220 turnovers this year I believe

Why post wrong stats? 46% from the field and 33% from 3. Not a huge jump but accurate. As to turnovers, when are people going to present those in a proper context? Totals mean little. Antman had 249 turnovers so I guess he's not a leader. He also shot 44% from the field. So? Cherry picked stats don't tell the whole story. Booker also averaged a career high in assists, 7.1 per game, and that was next to a real PG. Good enough for 11th in the entire league.

Is Booker a great leader? No. He was a good enough co-leader when he had a veteran who was teaching him and unselfish teammates to get the Suns to the finals. That wasn't all Chris Paul, as some have started saying. Paul was injured throughout that post season and also missed the start of the Western Conference Finals. There are plenty of examples where 2 players share leadership responsibility. This isn't new.

IDK, too many people reporting on this. The make stuff up, is usually some lone guy. There's smoke. Someone has told Meyers by now. It's the age of social media. He could just say something like, he enjoys spending time with family, etc.

Meyers has said he's not interested. He doesn't need to say more. It takes one person to create a narrative and others run with it. See Flex for an example of that in the NBA world.

Last quote I can find from him is from May 2023. Also, people covering this have said Meyers is interested in getting back into the NBA. Atlanta is said to be pursuing him, too. Maybe it's wishful thinking by two clubs. I can see Ishbia being VERY aggressive to get what he wants. Not saying Myers would say yes. It's in Ishbia's nature to go for the best option.

Deals over the years suggest the JJ isn't a good GM. The big deals for KD, Beal, with Ayton weren't on him. But the smaller parts like Crowder, no Hachimura, Camara, bad signings with Metu etc., bad coaching signings, etc. all showed that JJ isn't a good talent and roster evaluator.

Gerald Bourguet reports Bob Meyers does have some interest in a front office job with the Suns along with others.

Ive heard rumblings on Twitter that Jaren Jackson Jr will be used as trade bait for Durant. I hope there's some truth to that.

Trade machine looks a little difficult. Memphis has some deals expiring which changes their cap situation also. A deal involving JJJ, Clarke, and Konchar for KD works though. Need to be a pick involved, at least, and probably undoing swap rights on the pick Memphis has swap rights to already. We'd have a good frontcourt with a defensive focus then. Maybe call Vogel back?

The purpose of Memphis getting KD is to pair him with JJJ. He’s a consistent DPOY candidate and improving offensively. If they try moving a big contract it’s Ja IMO.

I agree with you but that wasn't the talk I saw. Memphis is in disarray right now due to firing Jenkins late in the season, Ja being Ja, and JJJ underperforming. JJJ hadn't grown accustomed to playing next to Edey and fitting back in with Ja, who has been injured and suspended since JJJ's DPOY win. They're in a weird spot. If they are listening to deals involving JJJ then I hope the Suns are calling.

Memphis tried to get Butler also but he killed the deal saying he didn't want to go there and that gave them cold feet. I don't know what was offered but they have been trying to upgrade their roster. As long as Bane isn't the piece they're trading, they have some intriguing talent.

Vogel isn't coming back. But yeah, we need more defense.

I think JJJ would play better off Booker than Ja. Ja moves too much on the two man game. After JJJ gets the pass in the low post, Booker could play the Kobe role off outside shooter playing off JJJ. They could be a good pair on offense.
