OK I thought it Ouchi was overly critical the other night after a pretty good Game by Smith. Tonight though is another story. He's been garbage so far. He looks more interested in just throwing up shots than actually making shots. They've all the trust or totally out of control. It's early, so hopefully he calms down.

Stix is taking shots the Suns offense wants him to take but I don't think corner threes are his game.

Ty-Shon Alexander appears to have hurt his shoulder.

He got hit on a screen play.

Smith certainly shouldn't be the focal point of an offense but I am not disheartened by what I've seen of him. Very active, he moves well, he's quick and looks to have a decent dribble. Looks like he has good rebounding instincts too.

Jalen shouldn't have hesitated putting that shot in the lane and it costs a turnover.

Stix stinks.. watching him play hurts my lower back, he has such an awkward hips and lower body and always seems to be hunched over strangely. Big miss by James Jones.

If only Tyrique Jones could get dunks like that all the time.

They need to bring Tyreek Jones in to camp just to teach DA the art of intimidation by dunking.

Kyle Alexander might be worth a two-way contract if eligible. He briefly played for the Heat.

I've always questioned listed weights more than height. There are discussions about height and its easy to tell comparing players to one another but weight is a totally different story. That's part of why I'd get frustrated when some posters try using weight as an argument for why a player isn't ready. Sure, if they're rail thin like rookie Giannis or something, I get it, but those cases are obvious.

I recall a few years back when we lacked size, as usual, and added Brandon Wright, who is a 7 footer but that wasn't good enough for some since he was billed at like 220. It's the fall back for those who like to complain to keep complaining. "Well, they may be tall but they're not bulky".

Stix is taking shots the Suns offense wants him to take but I don't think corner threes are his game.
Yeah I understand that they want a spread Power forward, But at the time I made that comment his three-point shots were looking rushed, And his shots around the basket he was just throwing up kind of wildly.

By the way, that picture somebody posted a few days ago of a shirtless I'm not saying he needs to look like a line backer, but some balance would be a good idea.

I haven’t seen anything to suggest Stix being more than a 9-10th man contributor in meaningful games and we’re in a title window. His value might be at its peak right now.

That being said unless he would net us a key rotation piece in return it seems absolutely silly to trade him. It will likely be better to hang onto him and see how he develops because I don't see his value being high enough to get us an impact player in a trade.

Stix showed enough that with time and more work he could be a solid rotation player in the league but that won't happen next season.

He was in an unenviable position, I don't think he could have shown he's worth hanging onto while he contributes as a 8th man or something. Playing well, like he has, raises his stock and likely leads to him being dealt for someone who can be counted on to contribute next season. Playing bad would bury him at the end of the bench, but at least he's on a contender where he can get quality coaching. It's unlikely he'd see the floor much though and might not have his options picked up.

There will be a portion of fans disappointed either way. We just have to trust JJ makes the right call.

Can’t shut the door completely with that clown car of guards passing (or not passing) to him.

To be honest, I don't think we should discard Jones in a deal for the likes of Nance Jr or Young. I would say PHX needs to continue to collect young talent and develop them into their core. You have Ayton, Booker, Bridges, Johnson so now you develop Smith so that you have young talent to build on long term. They already brought back their main priorities and have a decent back up in McGee so roll out the same squad next year but start getting Smith real game experience and hopefully by the time the playoffs come, he is ready to contribute.
