No. That’s not what he said. That’s you interpreting what he said without giving any credence to his next sentences which seem to fly directly in the face of your interpretation.

The initial headline I read, I thought Booker wasn't going to settle for anything but the playoffs. When I read the full quote, I understood what he meant...he meant that HE wasn't going to settle for missing the playoffs and that he was going to push the team there. Very clearly, he meant he needed to play better.

You can't discount perception. It came across as a negative story. With DBook being the team leader, he shouldn't be saying anything that would turn off this young team, and they sure appear to be turned off.

I will concede that if it were perceived as an implied threat, maybe, just maybe, the ownership group might take notice. The old theory of it is always darkest before the dawn.

Nobody perceived it as a threat, except for you and a few others who look for things they can twist to fit their point of view. Perhaps at first read, like it did for me, but when you listen to the context, it's clear what he was saying, and more importantly, what he was NOT saying.
