This seems weird to me. But I suppose you have to do your full due diligence.

This is correct. If something should happen that is unforeseeable, the Suns need to be ready. Although Bagley goes early in the draft, there is always the possibility that a player the Suns workout falls within range where they can move up and get him. I haven't heard if Young is coming in for a workout.

There is always the chance any pick can bust, even Ayton. If that happens, you can't be the GM that says, "We didn't even bother to look at anyone else." You look at everyone. Just have to.

I know Ayton is a no brainer but I like Bagley a lot too. Very skilled with a high motor, if he can develop an consistent jumper and improve his defensive skills he is going to be a franchise cornerstone.

I read that Bagley projects as a center. If so his 7' wingspan may be limiting. With that said, I like him a lot and think he will be an excellent pro. Like his explosiveness and hops.

I really liked Bagley before the lottery but haven't thought about him at all since the Suns can draft Ayton. Thought Bagley would be the easy choice at #2 and a solid pro. Maybe not ever an All-Star but a quality pro. Probably having a career similar to Paul Millsap. Good scorer, decent defender, good rebounder. Doesn't do anything great but does a lot well.

IMO, Bagley is the 2nd best prospect in this draft. All of the hype around Doncic has unfairly buried Bagley all the way down to #4. Bagley is going to be a great scorer in the NBA. His defense all around needs a lot of work, but overall, he will produce in the league.

I agree with that. If the Suns didn't hire Kokoskov I doubt Doncic would have been discussed as the #1 pick in place of Ayton. If they hired someone else I could see the discussion being Bagley or Ayton, very similar to Wiggins or Parker or last year with Fultz or Ball. I don't see him as a Center like some have said he'll be but he should be a good big, probably more impactful as a PF.

I guess the interview may have started. If so, I'm not receiving it.

I wish there was a way for the Suns to leave the draft with Ayton and Bagley. That could be a great front court pairing for the next decade. We could finally end the Chriss or Bender debate and let them come off the bench, if they'd be kept. I know we need a PG but we also need a PF and that seems to be past over when people discuss our needs. Ayton makes it less of a need, which is fine, but it still needs to be addressed.

McD mentioned Stoudemire and Marion as guys that Bagley reminded him some. He said something about how he hasn't seen anyone with such a quick second jump as Bagley in a long time.

I found that surprising since Jackson is also really good at that. Bagley had to have stood out a lot in terms of his athleticism. I recall his athleticism being a little bit of a question, not like Young or Doncic but he wasn't talked about as an athletic freak.

Huh? The one thing I’ve never seen questioned about as bagley’s athleticism.

I haven't seen him called a bad athlete but I've seen people question how good of an athlete he is compared to NBA talent. More if he is actually a great athlete or does he just look like a great athlete compared to inferior competition each night. The way McD talked about him is that's one of the best athletes he's seen, which helps counter the idea that he only stood out against inferior competition.

I think this tweet is a little misleading, or it could be. If you watched the interview he laughed when asked that and was sort of guided into answering yes because it came after him talking about how he feels he doesn't get talked about as the #1 pick as much as he feels he deserves. He was happy and laughing while answering that though and gave a couple of non-committal answers to the question before finally saying "yeah". I believe he was specifically asked "Will you carry a chip on your should against this team for the rest of your life if they don't pick you #1, where you think you should go?" It was worded in a way that anything other than a yes would have negated everything he said about feeling like he has the talent and skill to be #1 pick.

On Bamba's wingspan. He could well be the next Rudy Gobert but perhaps better because he has an outside shot.
