A win for the Suns tonight would be a dagger that I don't think the Mavs could recover from.
Absolutely. It's easy to forget that the Mavericks have lost three of their last four games, and the only win was an overtime squeaker. If somehow the Suns can win tonight, it will be four out of five that Dallas has lost, and they'll be heading into hostile territory on the road. This is a huge opportunity and the team should be up for it.
If we put together one of those ON games that we seem to do every 3 or 4 or so, it would be fantastic.
Well, Diaw and Nash were on, and Marion wasn't bad either. But it would be great to see Thomas or Jones catch fire from long distance. (I don't trust Barbosa's shooting mechanics, so I'd just as soon have him continuing to drive.)
2. Barbosa has the potential to really do damage in this series, and with the start tonight it could happen. LB seems to respond well to starting. Its almost like it takes some pressure off of him.
I wonder if it's because, when he starts, Nash assumes all of the PG duties? When they play together in the middles of halves, often Nash falls into more of a SG role, and Barbosa seems to struggle with that responsibility.
4. Is it possible that the Suns have learned from the first two series, and have now found that killer instinct that doesn't wait until crunch time to finish off the enemy?
Wouldn't that be great!
I'd like to add one other thing, which is that losing Bell isn't quite the crushing blow that it would have been against either Los Angeles team. Dallas doesn't have the prototypical stellar SG/SF that the Suns really need to be wary of. The closest candidate is Stackhouse, but his offensive efficiency tends to be poor enough that I think the Suns can roll the dice on giving him some opportunities.
