The Suns are down 101-62 in the 3rd quarter at the 5:11 mark.

There is losing and then there is getting demolished.

Time to trade all non-young assets that can net is future draft picks. The Nets don't count as an NBA team. We are the worst team in the league.

Also the Suns could do well by sitting Bledsoe and Chandler (if they are not traded) until after the All-Star break with home games coming up against the Pelicans and Lakers on Monday and Wednesday respectively. I can just see the Suns pushing to get those wins.

Unless McDonough is a miracle worker, the Knight trade is going to haunt him until one or both of them are gone.
Sometimes in the heat of the moment I feel like the Knight trade was so bad that he deserves to be fired just for that itself.

Knight just has no idea how to play basketball. He must be very religious because I don't see how the hell he's making $14M/yr doing what he does.

I think McDonough may well be judged by the Knight and IT trades and if he recover from it. However, the Knight trade is the big one.

Not that anyone played particularly well, but Knight an astounding -37 in a mere 20 minutes of playing time. That is unreal.

I don't even see how that's possible. I wish we could just cut him...he would probably be out of the league shortly after that.

Don't know how much weight I put into ESPN's "real plus minus" stat, but decided to look up Knight on it... 443rd out of 445 qualified players. Seems about right. Only Semaj Christon (OKC's backup PG) and Brandon Ingram (Hooray! Screw the Lakers!) are worse players.

Len misses a layup.

He looks like he is still a rookie. Also Len has 3 PFs.

Honestly if Len is on this team next year I'm going to be ticked off. I'm sick of his cluelessness and on again off again games. If he gets better somewhere else so be it... I'd take that chance.

I'd play Knight HEAVY minutes every night for the following reasons...

Help the Suns tank

Lighten Bledsoe's load to keep him from breaking down

Get Knights value up

Embarrass Knight into playing better

Yes, more than ever.

Why? We're already terrible, how much more terrible do we need to be? And the contending teams that would vie for him don't have the kind of assets we'd want. And the last thing we need is more horrible press about us discarding players. Bledsoe has been stoic throughout all the team's nonsense. He didn't complain about his role when we had 3 PGs, he didn't say anything during the looooong contract negotiation, he's been more than willing to defer to a virtual teenager on offense with Booker. Chucking that guy aside will do ever more damage to the franchises credibility with players.

If we get take a PG with our pick top 5 pick THEN you can move him and no one would blame us and we might be able to trade up for another lotto pick. But at this moment, mid season, is not a time where lotto teams (typically) toss out picks. We'd be looking at sending him to a contender and getting garbage picks for it.

Here is how I see it... Bledsoe has more trade value now than in the offseason. A team contending but more importantly a team looking to get in the playoffs may pay a premium to get Bled now. Then when they get him they have him for 2-1/2 seasons and a current playoff run instead of just 2 seasons. Plus trading Bledsoe now ensures a better tank job and a high pick. We can't take our potential #2 or #3 pick for granted because there is a lot of games left and the Lakers are hot on our heals. Anything can happen like when we smeared the bulls the other night. Bled can mess up our draft this year and next...then with our luck he gets broken down again!

But we dont want to trade Bledsoe to a team contending as they have no assets worth pursuing for us.

It would be one thing to get a ##4-8 pick for Bledsoe.

It is another to trade him for 2 vague far future picks.

Bledsoe is playing at allstar level and we are comfortably in the 2nd seed in the reverse standings so I don't really think that Bledsoe is ruining our pick by staying.

It's a shame that Sacramento doesn't own their pick cause we could've traded Bledsoe there.

I could've seen them offering that one as unprotected just to appease Cousins.

I think the Suns will keep Len at a reasonable price but I think some team will outbid the Suns. Even Robin Lopez is making over $13 million a season. IMO, Len will get more than this as a restricted free agent, maybe $15 million plus a season. He is still young and likely has more upside. I guess it depends on how far the Suns will go to match. I can see Len being included in a trade package before the trade deadline.

Not "comfortably" - lakers only a game and a half ahead of us and have every reason to tank to retain their pick.

They have 2 more wins (19 to 17) than us, that is huge for teams that should not win more than 24 games.

I would be more worried about Orlando, that is a team that might legitimately not win more than 2 more games and that would put them at 22.

Still overall tanking has nothing to do with Bledsoe, if we fail to tank it is because this organization is too proud for it and simply refuses it.

Are you for real? Two wins is not huge separation between us and the Lakers... Especially since (that has been pointed out) Lakers have STRONG motivation to retain a top three pick or they don't collect this year. Plus like you said Orlando will be in the hunt as well as a couple more teams.

And tanking has "nothing to do with Bledsoe"...Uhh it has everything to do with Bledsoe. If it weren't for bled we'd probably be tied with Brooklyn right now. We got demolished without bled in the Houston game. If the Suns slid to #5 because of Bledsoe that would be a f'n disaster!

Why? Not that I want to slide to #5 but by the time the draft rolls around there will likely be a clear #1, maybe a clear #2 also. We could tank, lose out and pass Brooklyn in the standings and still not get the first, second or even third pick. Considering how often the order of the top 10 fails to look anything like the re-draft order a decade later, I think you're grossly overstating things.

Granted ping pong balls can go any which way but as a poker player I have a great appreciation for odds and how powerful they can be.

Why take a chance keeping Bledsoe when he probably won't be around long term and his value is peaked right now. What is the point in having him unless he's hooked up with another star.
