I didn't want the win but I'm glad we played hard for it. Houston, what a waste. All that talent and they'll likely go on summer vacation with us.

What a stupid game. Earl Watson should have benched Teletovic, Tucker and Chandler and played Jenkins, Goodwin and Williams instead.

I'm souring on Watson, won't miss him one bit if he isn't retained quite frankly.

Winning games because our washed up veteran players having a rare good game is the worst.

Yeah like Earl Watson who's coaching for his job is gonna try to lose. I'm pissed about this win but stop being ridiculous.

We had to play this one straight though. Rolling over for a team that's in a dogfight for the playoffs wouldn't go over well with the other teams and players in the league not to mention the front office. In this type of game it's almost an honor commitment to give it everything you have. So many times through the years the spoiler has done his job and tonight we did ours. Hopefully, we can pack it away now as we have no other games as critical as this one.

I'd like to have the Suns washed up veterans back if you are talking about Chandler, Tucker and Teletovic. Maybe all three come off the bench next season. I would be alright even keeping Price as a third PG.

What a fan club this team has.

Stupid loss, sure. But to call the franchise stupid because they didn't conform to your irresponsible concept of tanking is ridiculous. As much as you think to the contrary, maybe the team doesn't really want to lose. Crazy, I know.

They lose and get a high draft pick, guaranteed you will complain about the pick, so don't pretend that you know how a pro franchise should be run. You and guys like Sunsfan44 will NEVER be satisfied.

I just can't understand so many fans wanting to "throw" games. I would have preferred a close loss, but I will never be angry that my team won. I don't get it- I just don't.

Funny thing is, you can count the number of possible tank jobs on one hand, and most, if not all, of those teams and fans will deny that out-and-out tanking took place. It simply doesn't happen, and honestly, it isn't good business. Not for the teams, the cities and the players themselves.

Anyone who runs a successful business knows you don't take short term gains over long term big opportunities. That's what this team does. Repeatedly.

You're right. Spurs were stupid to tank and end up with increased odds to land Tim Duncan. He sucks! It's called long-term strategic planning. And our business which now manages $200B in assets foregoes short-term insignificant "wins" for substantially larger sustainable opportunities. It's how a mom and pop shop dominated a market in a scant 15 years. Foresight and opportunity.

On top of that, there is also luck involved. You can lose 82 games and not get the #1 pick.

Mgmt does not play the games. In every business there are some things that are uncontrollable. The Houston Rockets showed up to this game expecting to get a win with no effort. When you are an NBA player, pride kicks in. Mirza, Chandler, and PJ just basically said, "Screw you. If you want a win, EARN it!"

Getting more numbers in the hopper is good. But forcing your players to surrender all personal pride cannot produce anything good.

The Spurs had injuries that year. They ended up with the third worst record. But even they had two wins in April (btw one on April 8), one against the 56 win Lakers. Even the most effective tankers in history won sometimes.

Point is that even the Spurs, that you want the Suns to mimick, did not do what you are asking the Suns to do.

what's CRAZY is people continuing to think meaningless wins at the end of seasons don't hurt this team. Or have you not noticed that we've missed the playoffs for over HALF A DECADE?

You can't guarantee anything except that you will likely say something "stupid" with almost every post you make. I think ouchie and fans like him will be satisfied when this team ACTUALLY PUTS ITSELF IN POSITION TO GET MAJOR TALENT.

The above is beyond laughable. The players may not like to lose, but if the FO was smart, they sure as hell would want to. And thinking otherwise can only be considered "stupid".

I mean... seriously... you've been defending this team winning meaningless games for HALF A DECADE. That, my friend, is STUPID considering it's gotten us NOWHERE.

But keep enjoying this team being a complete non-entity... while bashing the fans who wish it was anything but. You've been proven right time and time again how wrong the fans are who are sick of being in no-man's land with proof of playoff appearances the last six years. Oh wait...

I don't get how anyone doesn't understand the concept of cutting off your nose to spite your face. that's pretty much what every W does at this point.

Cmon Cheese. Do you think McD, the draft dude that he is, really WANTS wins right now. I guarantee you he wants the best shot at the best pick. He was sitting at home watching the game and groaning. But you cannot tell your players to LOSE games. You do the best you can to tank, but you cannot humiliate your veterans in the process. Houston's effort tonight was horrible.

Not sure what they could have done except pull Tele. But it looks like they want to resign him. So pulling him doesn't help with that. I don't know. Give Budigner a few more minutes? I doubt that would have made a difference tonight. There are not that may roster choices left. Sometimes you cannot manipulate a loss no matter how hard you try. The last thing you want to do is punish your players for playing hard.

Well, at least we ruined Houston's season. They're done.

It's not that complicated you go to the end of your bench guys like Telly and booker should not sniff the floor of the game is close enough to win. It's not that hard to lose if you make the decisions to do so.

Dont make excuses.

This win hurts the Suns two-fold. It ties us with Brooklyn in the win column and it pushed Houston below Washington.

Brooklyn is not going to win another game.

This is a gigantic failure.

Tucker and Teletovic should have been shut down weeks ago.

You know your wasting your breath right? People like Chaplin are those who would rather see the Suns be entertaining and fun whether it means win or lose rather than bringing a blue chip player via draft (because we sure as hell know it ain't happening via free agency anytime soon).

And how stupid are people to seriously think that anyone in this thread is saying that players should purposely throw games? I'm serious, how dumb do you have to be?

It's NEVER the players who tank, it's the people who game plan for them.

Why doesn't some genius who isn't pissed off about this win tell me what the Suns gain from playing old vets like Tucker and Chandler a combined 70 minutes today?

The Suns season was over months ago, this is like the 4th or 5th last game of the season. There's absolutely NOTHING, let me repeat NOTHING to gain from playing these two old geezers this many minutes.

Then bench them in the 4th! Give them rest! The Nets shut down their vets like Lopez and Young, while the Suns still haven't! The Nets aren't even doing t for their pick (which BOS owns), their doing it to prevent injury and keep their players healthy for next season.

Why don't the Suns do that?? If Tyson Chandler tears his ACL or Tucker breaks his arm in these meaningless games, are you still going to be singing the same song?

And lmao at pride. Ok where was this pride earlier in the season like December or November? No where to be seen? Oh wait pride and effort only happens when their playing a bad team who is tired and playing on the second night of a back to back huh? This isn't pride. Players like Tucker know that he sucks ass and that he will never play half as good against any half decent teams so he welcomes playing against bad teams who are playing on their 2nd night of a back to back so that he can pad his stats. You think Tucker would ever play with half as much effort if the Suns were playing a half decent team last night? Hell no.

Have the Suns ever done any other team as many favors as they have done for Boston? Giving two very high 2nd rd picks for 3 month rental of Wright, giving IT for a worthless 1st rd pick and now moving their Nets pick up to #3.

I honestly think Danny Ainge has some under the table deal with McD saying that if he can continue to do him some favors then if he gets fired from Phoenix, he can come back to work for Ainge with higher pay than he had before in Boston.
