In terms of team success, Plumlee has been one of the Suns most effective players, he should not see his minutes reduced. They have had FAR more success with Plumlee on the court than Richards. Richards puts up stats but he is perpetually lost when it comes to positioning, Plumlee also sets far better screens.
To be clear, I was advocating for Oso to get those minutes, not Richards. Your point still stands though, as Oso is likely going to be less productive overall than Mason. That being said, my goal is to develop the young guys given that this season is a write off.

Plumlee should develop the mindset he is going to dunk or layup every shot he gets inside. Passing out seldom works for him. It usually results in a bad shot or a turnover.

Plumlee still has the hops, but he sometimes forgets it. He gets too worried about getting his shot blocked.

Plumlee has moments that are outright embarrassing, but his overall play has been strong. Richards has moments where he looks like a beast, but all in all we are getting killed when he is on the court.

Plumlee, Dunn and Gillespe should be getting far more minutes than they are, Richards should receive less, Jones less and Beal should be reduced to a role player.

I don't disagree about Plumlee compared to the Richards of today. Plumlee is fundamentally the more sound player. I simply think he needs to be more aggressive in the lane, even if he gets his shot blocked. Passing out seldom works. Richards was never supposed to be the starter anyway. The same with Plumlee. This should be in the lap of the GM.

As far as the younger players, I think they should all be getting as many minutes as possible to find out what the Suns have for next season.

Watch him every time he gets the ball in the paint towards to the top of the key. He never knows what to do with it and he can't drive from that far out. It's bogs down the offense every single time. He usually dribbles the ball back out of the key instead of drives.

If I knew we were keeping Richards, I would be OK playing him to develop him. I'm not sure that's true. One thing is we do have Oso on a rookie contract. We SHOULD be playing him. If we are not keeping Richards, Oso should be the back up center. The only caveat is that Oso does need to develop NBA strength.

I don't look for Plumlee to create, only look to score when he gets the ball in position where he can take it directly to the basket.

He passes up a lot of these type opportunities when he can simply dunk the ball or get fouled in the process. IMO, he seems to worry too much about getting his shot blocked. That's a part of doing business.

I was talking about when he is towards the top of the key by the free throw line. He is completely ineffective at that spot but gets the ball there a bunch. He simply doesn't have that type of game.

Yes, Plumlee is definitely not a high post center. This might be a scheming issue or the idea is to put him in position to dive to the basket.

Plumlee is actually pretty good in motion, where all he has to do is finish the play.

I like Plumlee a few feet from the basket. He is aggressive there. Any further out than that I cringe. Plus it drives me crazy because he then dribbles the ball out to give it to one of our wings or guards because he can't get around anybody if too far out.

I can only imagine how you enjoy it when he brings the ball up the court.
