I hope the Suns keep Collins for the rest of the season. He knows how to position his big body to be effective. Great win for the Suns after being down early in the game.

Aside from 1st quarter where we didn't go to Amare, the rest of the game was a nice grindout. Amare and Nash played great defense for their standards. That's needed and we better get used to it. JRich played his role well and got hot late. Frye, Collins, Dudley, Hill, Dragic all played rather steady. Great to see that we came back from that 15 pt hole! Go Suns!

I am envious of the Nuggets, not bc they may be better than us but they managed to get some good young players (like Portland) while we have done nothing but get older the last years.

Lawson, Earl Smith, Afflalo, Melo, Nene is a core that they can keep together another 6 years at least.

I havent followed the NBA offseason much after the draft and now I am finding myself wondering how all these teams got all these nice solid players for cheap while we got nothing except Frye as a Shaq replacement.

San Antonio somehow got Jefferson,McDyess, Ratliff...
Dallas got Marion, Gooden, Thomas...
Denver got Balkman, Petro, Afflalo...
Boston got Marquis Daniels, Rasheed Wallace, Shelden Williams...
Orlando got Bass, Barnes and Jay Williams...

Nice passing by Amare and impressive defense on Ariza with about 2 1/2 minutes to go in the 4th quarter. :)

You forgot Keith Bogans to Spurs too. Carney to Philly. Rox found that Anderson guy.

I just hope we could trade LB for some assets at least. Collins and Frye are very good signings though. But Aflalo and Carney went cheap.

The Suns had Budinger tabbed as a top-25 player on their draft board and nearly saw him fall to them at No. 48, where they took Taylor Griffin. Budinger's shooting and playmaking would have fit the Suns' system.

Either Coro is lying or the Suns really are that incompetent.. When you have a player rated as a top 25 player in the draft why the heck would you wait until 48 and hope he falls into your lap?
Just buy one of the last first rounders or early second rounders and get Buddinger or Blair who both were guaranteed to be good role players at least.

Why don't we do that instead of selling our own picks or investing them into useless (from a basketball perspective) guys like Alando.

Wow, what does this whining have to do with the game? Yeah, we didn't get Budinger, big deal. If you want to complain about the offseason or draft picks, start a new thread, why threadcrap this one?

That said, a horrid first quarter and a half by the Suns was saved by a great 2nd half. Amare and JRich showed up big. And Nash had a Toyota Center record 16 assists tonight.

The Rockets have a nice team, doesn't seem like they should be winning as much as they do, but they play well together.

The Suns showing a lot more spine this year than years past.

Let's be humble and see how far it goes... I still think its a tough grind to beat teams like the Lakers, Spurs in the West. I just hope our team gels better, cuts down on silly turnovers and focuses more on making each possession count.

Loved today's game, they fought back and won it.

Thanks bench! Thanks Amare! Thanks Nash!

No offense, but I don't really understand the point of this post in this thread?

The Suns are 10-2 and getting excellent play from their role players. Frye, Dudley, Amundson, Dragic, even Collins when called upon.

Bass, Barnes, Williams? Really? Dudley is better than Barnes, Frye is better than Bass, and it's a toss up between Dragic and Williams. So I don't really see the argument.

Not only that, but the players that San Antonio got are older than the ones we got. Let's face it, Frye was a early draft pick (was it 6) and a big man and we got him for nothing. Kerr has made some big, big mistakes, but has also covered pretty well with some moves that I sure did not think would work out.

Richardson is in his prime and is a prototype 2 who can defend and be the lead scorer. He is the most complete 2 we have had since Joe Johnson.

Frye is a great complement for Amare and who knew he would be such a weapon from 3?

Dudley has produced wins for us and is a pain in the butt for opponents coming off the bench, plus he seems to be great for team chemistry on and off the court.

Collins is looking like a solid, solid, addition with good play off the bench. He knows his role and fills it.

None of these guys are old. We have a great mix of young and old on this team. That is the reason we are winning in close games. That maturity allows focus in crunch time and will produce in the playoffs.

Yes, Hill is old and so is Nash, but they are playing young and they are the reason our younger players are developing.

Anyone see that lockdown defense 1on1 with ariza vs amare at the top of the key? Lasted for like 10 seconds, he's definitely picking back up on his knees.

I gotta say I think every needs to give A LOT more credit to our coach. I know you all like him, but it seems like he's really the biggest change we have besides our bench. Which if we didn't have him who knows how much time/development they would be getting. This guy seems like a ****ing genius in many ways. Especially compared to DA and Porter. Dudes motivational skills are awesome. None of that "You want to be CHAMPIONS! THEN GO OUT AND PLAY LIKE CHAMPIONS!" He really understands what the regular season is for. Collins is going to be great come post season.
