I still can't believe how great Hill looked. It wasn't just his shooting, passing or his obvious basketball IQ, he looked pretty damn quick too, especially with the ball. He must be feeling great. It seems like him and Marion already have a good thing going too.

i say this because of the likelihood of large leads mixed with a bench that can hold the fort defensively (and with leandro + boris should be able to score just fine)

If your deep bench can play D, your starters should be able to get some rest.

If I was the coach, I might just plan on giving players a night off here and there.

Thanks a bunch guys for your observations... got my adrenaline going just reading about it. I was out on the town tonight and missed the whole thing - though I doubt if my connection is fast enough to stream a basketball game anyway. Even worse, I realized yesterday that I was going to miss the first 4 pre-season games - *&^$%^*($&*^#!!

I didnt get to see the scrimmage, I hope they put it in its entirety up on the site.

Leandro
Alando
Skinner/Marks
Diaw

Ladies and Gentleman, your garbage time lineup!

Needs more Piatkowksi. Not that he can play any defense at all, but I really like watching him play. He's just so monumentally terrible at defense, he looks hilarious chasing his man around, but then he makes it all better by draining a 3 on the other end.

EDIT: VVV Haha, I'm glad it doesn't, Im too busy focused on ASU and the D'backs right now to be super focused on the Suns too.

I’m super pleased with Hill and Boom Boom, they both looked great. I was particularly pleased w/ Hill’s passing and play making. So far he looks like he’ll live up to the hype. It’s hard to not get too excited but this was a scrimmage game but the guys looked great. I hope Grant stays healthy and boom boom stays this aggressive. Once STAT gets back I do think we will be a better team then last year.

Okay, calling Diaw "Boom Boom" is pretty funny. I didn't get it right away, but now that the reference has some appealing reverse logic to it, I may start using it myself.

When Amare was doing the commentary, he was asked about his rehab and this is the schedule:

Week 1 (current week) - riding the exercise bike and other drills to increase flexibility in the knee & stationary shooting

Week 2 - jogging and light weight training

Week 3 - Running & more weight training

Week 4 - Return to practice

If he starts week 2 on Monday then he should be able to be ready be game 1. He played almost all summer so he should be in pretty good condition still and barring any setbacks, I can see him being ready for game 1.

Classic D'Antoni Quote about the scrimmage -

“It was a real slugfest,” Phoenix coach Mike D’Antoni said. “That’s the problem with watching an intrasquad game. You get excited about the offense but then you remember we’re also playing defense."

Eric,

I've been trying to remember who it was that was called 'Boom Boom' before. I have a vague recollection of it being an NHL player with a French sounding name... less sure of the name part. Its also triggering a recollection of someone called 'Boomer' - and a name like 'Esiason' is attached to the latter.
