Suns should target Samuel Dalembert, Eddy Curry or Tyson Chandler

Option 1

Offer Joe Johnson, Howard Eisley/2yrs left for Samuel Dalembert and Aaron McKie/4yrs left.

Option 2

Offer Shawn Marion and Howard Eisley for Glen Robinson/2yrs left, Aaron McKie and Samuel Dalembert.

Why?
Because if the Suns target one of the PGs (Gordon, Harris or Nelson at #7) and Kobe Bryant there is only room for Joe Johnson or Shawn Marion, not both.
Dalembert is an impressive young center.

Samuel Dalembert 6'11-7' long arms, good athlete, 250lbs 23 years old
8ppg 7.6rpg 2.3bpg in 26.8mpg

Finished the season averaging
7ppg 8.8rpg 2.6bpg in february
9.7ppg 9.5rpg 2.7bpg in march
12.3ppg 12.4rpg 4.4bpg in april

Throw in the rights to Milos if you want. He is probably not going to come over if we draft a PG anyway. Maybe even Zarko.

Dalembert/Voshkul/cheap FA
Amare/Lampe
Johnson/Robinson
Kobe/McKie/Jacobsen
Gordon/Barbosa

:p

I've been a big JJ and Marion fan since their first days of arrival (Marion in college actually) but JJ for Dalembert could be a good trade depending on who is available in Draft to replace JJ or a PG and move Barbosa to SG. Would 76ers do it??? If Iguodala wasn't at #7 or even if 76ers wanted more - is Luke Jackson starter material at #9, (trading picks?). I'll go look at 76ers roster but that deal looks good to me... I did hear on radio though, that there could be a Iverson/Vince Carter trade though.

Here is what I would do personally

Marion, Zarko, Eisley and the rights to Milos for Robinson, McKie and Dalembert.

Dalembert/Voshkul/cheap Fa
Amare/Lampe
Johnson/Robinson
Kobe/McKie/Jacobsen
Gordon/Barbosa

That would be a sick lineup. The only negative part about it would be McKie's contractand that we would have to extend Dalembert and JJ after next year.
On the other hand we would get rid off Robinson and his max contract in 2 years.

Jackson/ +a F/C at #9 and with part of the MLE?
Thomas/Coleman
Marion/Zarko/
Iverson/Salmons/Buckner
Snow/Vujanic or Eisley if Vujanic doesn't come over this year

Well the 76ers lineup pales in comparison but what would you expect. They have a lot less talent to deal with.

Shawn Marion, #7 and Howard Eisley for Antonio Davis, #3 and Tyson Chandler?

That's quite similiar to the Robinson, McKie and Dalembert trade that I supposed but possibly better since we wouldn't have to take another bad contract like McKie and Davis contract is running out in 2 years just like Robinson.
However Eddy Curry might not fit as well as Dalembert and Chandler who is very similiar has more questionmarks about his health and attitude than Dalembert.Shawn Marion, #7 and Howard Eisley for Antonio Davis, #3 and Eddy Curry or Tyson Chandler?

Btw Marion, Eisley and #7 for Curry, Davis and #3 was suggested by a Bulls fan a few days ago on realgm.
At #3 we would be guaranteed Ben Gordon.

Chandler/Voshkul/Davis
Amare/Lampe
Marion/Zarko
Kobe/Jacobsen
Gordon/Barbosa/Vujanic or another cheap FA at another position.

Johnson and #7 for Chandler and #3 would be a good alternative as long as we still have enough cap to afford #3 and potentially Kobe.

The Bulls would even start to look like something with
Curry
Davis
Iguodala or Childress
Johnson
Hinrich

The interessting thing about the Chicago proposal is that the Clippers might very well want Ben Gordon at #4. Something is fishy about the Clippers going for Livingston.
They have no history of taking HS guys and Dunleavy wants to win now. Livingston is a project by most accounts while Ben Gordon is more of a sure thing and ready.

So trading with Chicago accomplishes 2 things for us.

We get a center and the best PG on the board. Works out perfectly for us considering that was said to be our areas we need to work on.

And if we didn't get Kobe we could look to get either Darius Miles at SF to replace Marion, Ginboili at SG and move JJ to SF or Bowen at G/F.

Isn't the reason why the Suns would like to acquire Dalembert the same why the Sixers would like to keep him?

Well the Sixers are shedding some bad contracts in that trade as well as acquiring good young players in JJ and Zarko or Marion and Zarko.

There are some rumors involving Dalembert out there.

That being said the Chicago deal looks better to me and for Chicago.

- we don't have to take on another contract like McKie in that trade
- we trade up to #3 to get Ben Gordon who could very well have a guarantee at #4 otherwise
- Tyson Chandler if healthy has probably more upside than Dalembert and might not be ready to breakout before he can be signed "cheap" to an extension.

BULLS-76ERS A POSSIBILITY?
One trade possibility for the Bulls this week could be the 76ers and their No. 9 pick. General manager Billy King, a Dookie, is said to be anxious to move up for Luol Deng. The Bulls could exchange picks and get center Samuel Dalembert in a package that includes Tyson Chandler. That would open the door to a trade of Eddy Curry and a major remaking of a more athletic, hard-working team in the image of general manager John Paxson.

I have been raving about Dalembert to my friends for a while now, but everyone thought I was crazy. Im glad there are others that think he's gonna be something. As for the trade, I think we need to take a bad contract if were gonna take him. I can see a marion for dalembert and snow or something like that.

I have read the same rumors about Dalembert. My play would be with Chicago after the deal is completed with Philly

Marion and Lampe

for

Pippen and Dalembert

If we are going to have to take a contract I would rather have Pippen's. I think Chicago's frontline of Marion, Lampe and Curry could be more competitive against Detroits of Prince, Wallace and Wallace, their major competition in their division.

I like Samuel Dalembert, But I would not give up JJ for him. Dalembert would be worth our #7 and maybe Voskul and Casey. Dalembert would be the best fit for the Suns but I would not give away one of the key players for him. He only had one good year and nothing more.

You are giving up a whole lot of talent and potential for a whole lot of over the hill and potential. I think the Suns can get a lot more value for Marion. If i were actually going to try to Dalembert I would be willing to part with possibly JJ but not Marion.

Dalembert has only been int he league for two years. He averaged about 5 minutes a game his first year, but really took off after getting the minutes last year.

Dalembert is like JJ in that no one knows if his success is signs of a great future, or one of those little bursts that guys have before they settle into mediocrity. (The same thought pattern goes for Mark Blount I have to admit).

I'd love to get Dalembert if the price is right and I think it is unlikely the Sixers will let him go. But you never can tell.

I agree with George when he says that Dalembert is like JJ; no one knows if his success is signs of a great future

That said... if it was a trade between Dalembert and JJ, I would hands down take Dalembert. He would fill one of our biggest need as a shot-blocking, athletic, defensive center. His offense might be raw but he is young enough that our coaching staff can probably mold him into an effective center.

I like JJ too but if it was between a potentially good shooting guard versus potentially good center. I will always take the center.
