Mikki Moore, of course.

Calvin Booth is another waivee who might be a better fit. Or, the Suns could have gotten a wide-body like Robert Traylor, on the off chance they made it to the Finals and Shaq was waiting for them.

I'm sure the Suns saw their chance with Grant and grabbed it (instead of having to wait for the Steven Hunter treatment from one of the other candidates), but it's frustrating that Amare (6'10", 245) will be the team's biggest big man next year.

Calvin Booth?

Brian Grant -- Terrific signing. The guy had injury issues over the past couple years, but if he is healthy--oh man, very good power off the bench. Love the move.

As for Finley--if we actually do end up getting him, this will be a VERY successful offseason. Sure, we lose JJ, Q and our #21 (and our bench fodder), but we'd gain KT, Bell, Grant, Finley (and new bench fodder). That's not bad at all. Not at all. In fact, I'll go as far as to say it may be one of the best frontcourts talent-wise that the Suns have ever had.

Add to that 2 first round picks and unloading Voskuhl. This lineup if Finley signs will be positioned very well at a run at the title next season. Then be in a position to reload with younger talent.

I can't wait until the Atlanta games next season and Diaw just shuts down JJ and Bell just explodes offensively.

Just did some research at NBAdraft.net, they have added a 2nd round pick from Orlando to the Suns for next year's draft. Anybody know if that is correct?

I would still like to get Diener from the Magic, maybe for our 1st rounder next year. But if not next years mock at NBAdraft net has three very enticing PG's, Sergio Rodriguez, Daniel Gibson and Rajon Rondo hopefully they will hold out until the 2007 draft.

Mikki Moore?

I've mentioned this a couple of times before... He's a career journeyman and one of the primary reasons why is that he has extensively battled weight issues throughout his entire career, but for opposite reasons... He's had some metabolism disorder which has prevented him from gaining weight....Therefore, he's 7'1 and 223 without much strength/bulk and would get pushed around much easily...He pretty much plays equal to someone who is 6'5.... Plus...He'll be 30 in Nov, so he's not just a project who's never received a fair opportunity in the league either....

Quite frankly... I would prefer Lonnie Jones over him since he's younger, more of a prolific shot-blocker, would be a cheaper alternative, more physically imposing, and has never receive a 'legit opportunity in the league before because of his offensive deficiencies, but obviously the Suns need someone who would be more emphasis on rebounding/shot-blocking and Jones would fulfill that role perfectly.....

I would love for the Suns to sign Aaron McKie or Jerome Williams if they fail to acquire Finley.... Both may be around 6'6-6'9, but they play like their 7'0 with their tenacious rebounding and also both are extreme forces from the inside... Much rather have those 2 over Mikki Moore....

As far as Brian Grant... excellent signing.... he's on a mission to prove that last year was a fluke and would add more character/toughness to the Suns game.. both him and Kurt Thomas provide the Suns with that attribute that they were lacking last season..which is some players who could play the role of an "enforcer" so no one can push around/indimidate the star players as much as they have and continue to get away with it...

Aaron McKie?????? He's a point guard, lol

Aaron McKie is a point guard? I don't think so. He's a shooting guard.

ok, a shooting guard who plays point guard a lot..or at least he did w/ the sixers. the point (no pun intended) is he does not play like a 7 footer, but i see you missed that one

I hope Grant plays well for you guys. By all accounts he is a great guy, however to be completely honest it was almost painful to watch him play. He was, at least last year, a shell of what he once was. I guess his knees are bone-on-bone and he can't really go on back-to-backs.

He was supposedly working out very hard this offseason, so maybe he has something left in the tank. He really showed nothing last year.

Good luck, BG.

I didn't miss the point. I was just correcting you. He has handled the ball in the backcourt with Allen Iverson. I believe there was a season where he averaged 5+ assists.

I agree with you that Aaron McKie does not play like a 7 footer however. I really have no interest in him. I'm really not that interested in Mikki Moore either.

I sure there are some on this board who think we are getting the Grant of the Heat, but most of us know he provides a name value only and at this point in his career if he can stay somewhat healthy really nothing more than a slight upgrade over what we had in Voskul and less than Hunter in the shot blocking department. I am sure he'll take his fair share of jump shots though.

You'll definately see varies opinions but those who think he is just waiting to recapture his late 90's form will be in for a big disapointment.

I'm not sure why it has to be one way or the other. My guess is that his performance will fall somewhere between the Brian Grant of the past and the one that struggled last season. He'll only be asked for 10-20 minutes per game from the Phoenix Suns, so that should help.

The point (pun actually intended) is that he rebounds quite well for someone his height.... Does that mean that I feel he's the best option available at the time? No.. but he would be a relatively decent addition if the Suns failed in acquiring either Payton or Finley and at somewhat of a bargain price than most....

I guess I'll admit that I was embellishing him some to make a point (again pun intended) that he plays a lot taller than Mikki Moore who is someone that actually measures at 7'0.....

I can agree with that.
