It's a horrible signing because when was the last time a starting white point guard led his team to the NBA title?

I am pretty sick of this blatant racism.

it's a valid question Chris - can you name the last time it's happened? Do you think that it's just some kind of coincidence?

When was the last time a black point guard led a team to the finals? Thomas is the last one I can think of. But thats not the point here, he is part of a team that includes Amare. Amare is the real superstar in the making.

It also makes me sick.

How in the hell can some of you NOT like this move??? Damn, perhaps some of you really don't know anything about good ball???

Leave the "white" comments out of this. That pisses me off.

I brought this topic up because it's the truth. The game now so much different than it was in the 1960's. Today's players are quicker and faster and Nash is a step slower than he was five years ago. Dallas could not stop anyone and he was one of the reasons, he can't guard the elite point guards. They paid way too much for Nash. Mark Cuban is no idiot.

The Suns did not break up their core. The Suns still have cap room left to sign a center. The Suns now have a legit shooter. The Suns now have a PG that averaged nearly 9 assists a game.

Yeah he happens to be white. Whoop de crap. I like Nash's game.

Nash isn't slow. This is a fallacy. And the problem with the Mavericks was INTERIOR defense not PG defense.

Who were you going to get to gaurd an elite point guard? Troy Hudson? He is fast and just what a few of you are looking for.

See him being slower is an actual argument. I have no problem with it.

What I have a problem is this racist BS! Who gives a **** if he is white? How does that effect his game? Are you telling me if the Bulls during their long run had Nash instead of BJ Armstrong, they wouldn't win their titles?

If Dirk Nowitski (arguably a top 5 player in the league) hit the open market and had a choice between him and Marion would you pick Marion based on the sole purpose that he isn't white? I call BS plain and simple

I would of taken Fisher over Nash. Plus, Fisher would of been a cheaper acquisition.

It does not matter now, Nash is signed. Do you guys like it that he is signed for five years?

Imagine this conversation reversed in a sport like say Hockey.

Are you serious? You just destroyed what little credibility you had. Tell you what...call any of the local radio stations and say you would rather have Derek Fisher over Steve Nash.

I am sure their response will be enlightening.

So, we traded Penny w/ Marbury to save money in order to sign Steve Nash? Wha? I like Nash and all but what are we doing? I guess I'm in a lose-lose situation anyway because I don't want Kobe. Kobe is the guy we are supposed to be happy we beat. Anyway, I don't get to watch the games out here so I'll just quit bi*ching.

Just as long as he isn't guarded by a white guy! That's disrespecting my game! Paraphrase of a Larry Bird quote! :D

I think we made a mistake by not keeping Nash and trading Kidd at the time we traded Nash instead. I thought it was a mistake at the time, too. Now in hindsight, it looks even worse. I know we got a pick that turned into a good player in the move, but I think Kidd would have brought more picks at the time.

Water under the bridge with the Nash history. I think the money he signs for is a key whether he is a good signing or not. I haven't seen the dollars yet, but that will determine it for me.

Not at all. I am very worried about his health. He has played in a wide open running game for almost 10 years. I'm afraid of what that has done to his body. However, I think he is a great fit for this team for the next 2 to 3 years, but he doesn't seem to be the long term solution that will put us over the top.
