No need to bring up the past. I am sure most of the post were knee jerk reactions. Keep the bashing down so I don't have to delete the old threads.

Thanks,
Dave

I was reading some of the old posts about Nash before he comes here.

Was Nash really that bad?

Nash helped Mavs to become elite didn't he?

isn't wasn't so much that nash was bad, but rather, a combo of a few things like:

1. a lot of us really thought kobe was coming and had gotten into that frame of mind. now, as much as i think kobe is an arse, when you compare the b-ball skills of kobe and nash, nash is a let down.

2. when kobe blew up in our faces a lot of people were hoping for a center and a lesser guard. nash was not the best post available.

3. a lot of us were not enamored of the length of his contract for an older pg. we didn't think the dollars and length were wise moves.

in the end those of us that were critical were obviously wrong. we might still be borne out as prescient on #3, but overall, boy were we wrong! and i'm stoked we were so wrong. but a lot of us critics also came around prior to the season thinking that nash was exactly the type of pg this team needed and hoped that we'd be proven right. by the time the season started everyone had come around. we all love little stevie nash now.

I'm one of the resident basketball racists, believing most of the best players are black but I argued against Kobe Bryant and was thrilled with the Nash signing.

I was pissed when we traded him away years ago. But I never, ever, thought he'd elevate the team to these heights. I was hoping for 52 wins.

I think Suns traded Nash away is because of Kidd being the #1 PG on the team.

I've always liked Nash because my English tutor played with Nash before (in Canada and I am a Canadian) and he said Nash was UNSTOPABLE. That's when I start to like Nash because he is not particularly tall, strong, and athletic but he finds his way to improve his game on other aspects to become an elite guard.

I thought Nash was a shooting guard in his early days. I heard somewhere when I watched Mavs' game a year ago. They said Nash was playing out of position in his early days in Suns.

Although Nash's shooting % CAN be a shooting guard. LOL

Actualy they traded him because KJ was the #2 PG on the team and Kidd was #1

Oh, KJ was still around at that time? hehe.

Well, that explains why they didn't need Nash because there were only 2 great guards.

This is one of those threads we need to keep bringing up to the top of the list from time to time. It just reminds us about how wrong we can be, and that team mgmt is NOT just a bunch of Baboons.
