Can't they appeal a suspension and play until the appeal is heard? ...or is that only baseball and football?

Great win boys, let's take it back to AZ with or without Amare and get this damn monkey of our back

Yup, I agree with you 100% there. Others have mentioned it as well. However they decide to call the damn game is fine, as long as there's some consistency to it.

I definitely thought the Suns got the benefit of a few calls here today, but if a Spurs fan were to complain to me I'd say, 'we were just the more aggressive team when it counted'.

I agree man, you gotta stand up for your leader, especially when he is attacked by a coward twice his size. HOWEVER, the rule is clear- you leave the bench area, you get suspended.

There's the letter of the law, and the spirit of the rule. Our coaches were able to recover in time, to prevent diaw/stoudemire from getting into the fracas.

I mine with everything that has happened in this series, how do you expect your most intense player to act when he sees the teams heart getting cheap shotted once again.

Not in the NBA. David Stern's office is the end all be all. They wanted to change that in the last CBA, but couldn't.

TTUBoi,

I would stop trying to re-register. You were banned before you even finished (and by someone who got to you before I did).

I agree with you man. If I were on the bench I would have done the same thing. You just HAVE to get up and protect your leader. However, you have to be ready to face the consequences. I hope they decide to FINE Stoudemire rather than suspend him, but they will not just look the other way.

I honestly thought Diaw was making sure that Nash was okay. He backed away the moment he saw the scrum.

I doubt he gets suspended. Amare...likely.

The rule is designed to keep players off the court during fights. Amare and Diaw quickly reacted and quickly then realized that they were breaking a rule and went back towards the baseline. Suspension would be rediculous.

Great win lousy outcome. Amare and Diaw will be suspended. Horry should be gone for the series. Horry is a total freaking ***** and to the Spurs he is now going to be called a hero.

They just played it again. Diaw moved out before the scrum to check on Nash and backed away immediately once Bell confronted Horry.

Just finished watching on delay -- I have no idea how the Suns won this game. Basically they played like crap and somehow were able to get a bunch of fourth-quarter stops. The Spurs missed shots they normally make and the Suns got a few calls to go their way.

I haven't watched any replays of the Horry aftermath, so I don't know who left which area when. I suspect no one will be suspended because the incident really didn't get too far out of hand and both Horry and Bell drew in-game penalties. Players "leave the bench area" all the time to cheer a big basket or complain about a call, so there is some gray area in the rule.

But, whatever. If the Suns have to win Game 5 without Stoudemire, so be it. Nash can't play this badly three times in a row, and the Suns have topped 100 points in all four games.

MESA! :thud:
Aside from who gets suspended--

Freakin' Horry not only lowered his shoulder & body checked Nash, but he JUMPED into it...I hope that s.o.b. is gone for a few games...

Agreed. I am always frustrated by the Spurs hack-n-grab style of play, but the refs need to call a game one way FOR BOTH TEAMS. They definitely helped out the Suns in the 4Q by starting to call stuff that had gone uncalled for 3Qs. Had they called the game that way from the beginning, Suns would have won by 30 and fouled out the entire Spurs lineup.

I suppose it is payback for Game 3 - still the worst officiated game of this century.

After watching the replay, there are Spurs players being held back and on the court at the other end. They cut to that end of the court so late that it's hard to see, but there are deinfately Spurs players feet on the court as the Spurs assistant coaches shove them back to the bench.

The only defense the Suns have is that Amare and Boris didn't throw dukes. If they did, this decision would be inevitable.

Do you people realize if lose this series as a result of what robert horry started, that would be right up there with paxson as the worst thing that ever happened to this franchise?

But you know what, I believe dammit. If they're suspensions in game 5, our team will still fight with everything it has. We need our fans more than ever in game 5.

Amare clearly threw his towel to the ballboy or Jalen (same thing) and looked intent on checking in when the melee happened. I honestly don't expect anything to happen.

I think one thing that is being overlooked is the excellent defense Marion played down the stretch. I have my doubts about him, but his quick double team and overall play in the 4th was outstanding.
