GP for the Voskuhl TE works. GP for the JJ TE doesn't.

Yes it does. You can take back a player that makes less than the TE in a deal.

TEs can be chopped up over the course of a few deals.

Now I wouldn't touch the JJ TE for Payton anyways.

Another thing: I was talking on some other boards and there is a group of people that think we are using the voskuhl TE to get Diaw which makes the JJ TE even bigger. I know this was talked about here before, but apparently it might be a possibility.

Wow, that would be cool. As I've been looking over lists of players who might be available, it seems like there are a lot more at $6 million than at $5 million. Uh, not that I can remember who any of them are at the moment...

Oh, well there's Malik Rose, for openers. :D I guess the Suns would wait until Grant re-injures himself before making that move.

Why would Atlanta do that, exactly?

Why wouldn't they? Often times trades are actually a couple seperate transactions and the public doesn't know about it. For example, the TMac to Houston trade last season was actually 3 individual trades (which then created two different trade exceptions).

All we have to do is throw them a bad, well protected second rounder and the JJ deal becomes 2 trades. JJ for the 2 picks, and Diaw for the second rounder.

It is a common curtosey that teams extend each other knowing it will be returned by another team at a later date.

Yes, it's not like Phoenix and Atlanta are going to meet in the playoffs any time soon.

Compensation for holding up this deal, time is money. I sure Stern would sign off on it, would the players association, I think they would as well.

Do you mean that we would demand it in order to get the bigger exception? I suppose I could see that possibility.

It seems more like all the Hawks owners with the exception of Belkin have negotiated in good faith and would like for the deal to be done just as badly as we do. I dought the Suns would go to them at the 11th hour and demand more.

As much as I'd like for the Suns to get more.:D
