Suns @ Timberwolves Saturday Playoff game thread, 4-20-24 - Game 1

Minnesota was the only team in the west the Suns had yet to face in a playoff series. The only one I couldn’t remember was Sacramento so I looked it up. The heart of the purgatory era.

Just happy we are not in the play in. Anything can happen with just one bad game.

book and nurk - they need to be aware of foul trouble in this series

book - love him to death - but he gets mad on the no calls and when he gets back on defense he does the whole moving blocking foul thing trying to catch up or as soon as his opponent drives - luka kills him with this - book needs to let it go and play focused championship defense everytime - we need him in the game - that simple

and the nurkster - who's got to realize between his size and with banging inside - he's probably getting anywhere from 1 to 3 bad calls a night - he has to account for those - this means being extremely careful not only in the first quarter but we're talking the first half - or we see more of drewbanks - that simple

be aggressive - allen - gordon - beal - all super aggressive - people even go at them more but you gotta play the game - if you're beat defensively don't over correct/compound it with a foul

So it’s playoff basketball so are the calls different and they let them play . Or is that made up?

TLW - 3point shooting luck (in both directions) in the regular season games means this is a lot closer than those results may suggest.

Man, Greg Anthony picks Minnesota based on phantom crap. Like stuff that hasn't existed all year against us. Weird. I get picking the Wolves over us, but it's likely going to be more about our inconsistencies rather than the Wolves physicality and deep bench.
